The Truth about Oblige and USAF

Small Change (Mandatory listening)
Day 3083 of the New World
April 29, 2016
Full disclosure:
I was not in favor of Oblige being made Commander of the USAF.
So there’s probably a wee little bit of vindictiveness behind what I’m publishing, mixed in with a sprinkle of self-righteousness, combined with a wad of “I told you so.” If that bothers you, just skip this article.
But these are facts regardless of how any of us feels about them.
Oblige is guilty of dishonest mismanagement of the USAF Reserve funds.
All of this was recently revealed in Public Congress where you can read Oblige’s self-defense. If you don’t want to read his self-defense, allow me to summarize it: since Pfeiffer was the accuser, the accusation itself has no merit.
Here’s what happened.
When Oblige was negotiating to take over Command of the USAF, because he was not generally trusted to return USAF to the CP if asked, he agreed to post a 3,000,000cc payment to be held in escrow. This would serve as compensation to the US Government if Oblige were to refuse to resign if so asked. (Remember, USAF exists under the ultimate command of the CP).
Oblige agreed to the deal.
On day 3056 (April 2), Oblige transferred the 3,000,000cc to then-CP Israel Stevens. You can see the details of the transactions here:
And
Those screenshots were provided by Oblige.
So far, so good.
However, four days prior to the escrow payment being made, Oblige had received the USAF reserve funds, totaling 2,008,463.87.
As you can clearly see, Oblige has only 40K cc remaining on his account after the transfer of funds was made to President Israel Stevens.
In other words, Oblige used most (all but 40K) of the USAF Reserve Funds (plus about a million of his own cc) to make the escrow payment he had agreed to pay out of his own pocket.
Now Oblige does have a pile of Gold which he could have liquidated in order to make the payment. The 4277 Gold could have been liquidated (eventually) for approximately 1.4 million cc. He obviously also had an additional 1.04 million cc of his own. So at the time of the transaction, Oblige actually only had 2.4 million currency. If he had liquidated his companies and perhaps training grounds, he could have possibly generated the additional 600k cc he needed without having to “borrow” against the USAF Reserve - something he did not have Congress’ permission to do.
Of course there are additional ways to aquire needed cc. People borrow, people buy, etc. Oblige could have found a way to raise the 3,000,000 without liquidating his hard assets. (In fact, I myself gave him a reference of someone I believed might have been able to supply him with cc.)
But he did not.
Why?

Because "he didn't want to."
At best, Oblige self-authorized a loan to himself, borrowing government property and using it for personal business. He did so without reporting his actions to anyone, either in Congress or Executive Cabinet.
At worst, Oblige stole government property to the tune of roughly 600Kcc.
Somewhere in the middle, Oblige used the USAF Reserve to purchase… the USAF.
So if you were thinking that Oblige had been misjudged, mistreated, and misunderstood, you can at least now see that he’s just misguided.

Misguided, not mistreated.
Tenshibo assured me it's not a fiasco. Please don't call it a fiasco people.
And yet, with the government assets all safely and undramatically returned to government hands, 500k was stolen from me 🙂
This is an issue of optics exploited for catchy headlines and nothing more.
If the USAF or the gov needed the funds back, I had the means to provide them, and at the end of the day that's what actually matters.

It also takes minutes to go one way and months to go the other.
It isn't optics if you admit yourself you didn't do what you should have done because "you didn't want to."
Maybe its a financial penalty for what in the real world would be considered felony fraud?
How is that exactly?
Uh, its not complicated. Put it in real world terms - you take over an entity, and as part of the transaction are required to supply collateral to secure against loss or mismanagement of the entity. You can't raid the accounts of the entity to supply that collateral!
I had enough collateral. Apparently that isn't in dispute. The dispute is that the collateral takes a different form.
Collateral is something you supply to another party in return for something they give you. If you KEEP the collateral by giving that person their own damn money, then whether you had enough resources of some sort to have made the payment yourself is irrelevant. You didn't supply the collateral.
if you get a company but have to put down collateral. and the company have 2 million and you use that to pay the collateral. you in fact cannot replace the company to its previous state immediately. you defrauded the people. your a fraud and a thief . quit the game and go examine your life. the assets of the company includes its money. we have the same thing here in south africa. a indian brotherhood bought a coal mine for 2 billion their aiming to circumvent the authorities to access 3 billion held in its rehabilitation fund. in short the money eventually needed to rehabilitate the lands upon which the mine sit. when done with the mine they will probably drop it on another buyer for next to nothing and then he will have the problems of funding the rehabilitation.
Honestly who the hell approved sending him the money knowing he was going to be sending back 3 million. The implementation of this was just plain awful, I don't even care what Oblige did or did not do.
a better point to ask is why he was sent the reserve BEFORE sending the Escrow.
yea this is exactly what I meant, I was too shocked to even write properly
that was my thought when I read it.. the escrow should have been totally handled before turning over anything, especially funds.
You voted in favor of this stupid plan to begin with, Tom. It was a bad idea right from the start, which is the point many of us tried to make, and yet we were ignored.
I'm not arguing about whether Oblige was the right choice or not. I'm saying this is just straight up bad policy. Sending out government funds before receiving the collateral.
Tom - it was a bad decision from beginning to end. We tried to tell you that. You didn't listen, and you were wrong.
You can keep arguing on a different point, but that won't help you win this argument. Executive screwed up. End of story.
The executive didn't send him the money. The previous holder of the Reserves disappeared for a while then had basically refused to hand them over upon returning.
False.
I never "refused to hand anything over". I was not aware of where or to whom to send and was advised to hold until a determination was made by the executive when I inquired.
Good thing the evidence proving you did is tied up in the PDB isn't it?
I reviewed my post history and came up short. Can you provide an estimated date of refusal?
So Oblige was given the government money before he had to pay the guarantee funds?
The point of a guarantee is getting it first, before releasing the funds. No guarantee really existed then and both sides had to be in on how this would transpire.
Whoever was representing the government of the this transaction was obviously in on the scheme.
>scheme
That would be IS / MR, but there wasn't a scheme.
Well there was no guarantee neither.
Israel Stevens is swimming in money , 6 mil so far 8^)
😃
why does the sum 3,000,000 reappear, even if not related, makes for good yellow journalism, if I was a better writer I could make some hay with it ;P
lol 🙂 excellent business deal 🙂
Honestly tho, swapping gold to CC just to have it as a "safety" is a huge cost when you want to reverse it back to gold, I have been buying 10 g per day for a bit over a year now, and I have about seven months left before I have gotten rid of as much CC as I want. But whatever, that isn't really related to the real problem, I am just sayin Oblige not wanting to swap gold to CC to serve as safety is kinda understandable.
Agreed. But nobody forced him to accept the deal.

hey, that's me
whale noise
So,if I hear you correctly, Israel Stevens, the same one who with such righteous indignation confiscated some Iranian MU's money, gave over 2MIL in USAF reserve funds to Oblige before the "escrow" on the command was established? Not sure which one is the crook and which is the complete idiot. Why do we elect and/or trust these guys is the equivalent of doing the same thing again and again and expecting a different outcome.
Not to go too far off the reservation but; It seems like Fluffer may be that honest man the Diogenes is seeking.
I think it is important to separate the different games players play here, there is the game the elites play among themselves (this is were fluffer admits he is a multi farmer), and the elites play with the rest of us (this is were fluffer denies he is a multi farmer).
Who cares if any one is a multi farmer or not, seriously, who cares.....
I care that the CP of eUSA tosses away the reserves of USAF to anyone.... that is a lot ofmoney, why not just put USAF on an allowance paid out from those reserves... after all, weren't they really the reserves of the eUSA, since USAF was OUR military.... this whole thing stinks. Basically we gave away USAF AND 1,000,000,if Oblige wants it to be that way.
I would like to think that oblige is not that way and that IS is just a complete moron. Time will tell....
It seems you were sorting the good stinking elites from the bad, I was pointing out all are equally bad...
Major, hopefully I am still one of those stinking elites, so YEAH!
your not in congress, so probably just a sex toy and depending on whether they defecate on you or not would equate to how much you stink...
Major Trite, formerly George Pumpkinette says to me "your not in congress, so probably just a sex toy and depending on whether they defecate on you or not would equate to how much you stink... "
Yeah, you got me all figured out; I am just a sex toy. Looking forward to you quitting again. Complaining about elites is so 2014! BORING!
running off players still the eUS forum game?
Israel Stevens didn't have the reserves to give to Oblige.
Israel Stevens had the authority.
So, how did this go down? I am more curious about why did command of USAF include this amount of reserves, and how is it that USAF built up such reserves?
@Animis, the bulk of reserves were remainders from the donations to SF branch from retiring members along with a sizable contribution to USAF from dmj upon his retirement. i'm sure there were other private donations but our commune manager would be better equipped to speak to the topic.
