The Pitch: The Party President (PP) Elections

Party members have spoken

Party members have voted, the polls have closed, an independent authority has checked the results for irregularities and the results have been confirmed. The candidates will be experiencing different emotions depending on their view of the outcome some happy, some sad and others optimistically depressed (however that works). Whatever their thoughts on the PP Election they will have to accept the result as the party members have spoken and that is democracy.

The optimistic depressed look I presume.

Purpose of article

So as we now all who will be leading the parties, I thought I would share some of my observations of the PP election. It will be an overview as I believe that there some common themes with all sides and slightly because the reference material I was going to use has mysteriously vanish (bit of a rookie mistake), lessons have been learnt i.e. not to file important stuff in the circular filing cabinet.

My filing cabinet.

Observations
I spy with my little eye.

At its basic level, the PP candidates can be split in to two groups. There are candidates that have used their media outlets to champion their cause whilst others have kept quiet and remained out of the spotlight.

Firstly let us look at the candidates that stayed out of the media glare. There is a very good reason for this, simply put only party members can vote in the PP elections held in their party so one would assume that private conversations with party members occurred in order to secure votes. It may be fair to say that some candidates may have done no campaigning whatsoever but that is less likely and would see private conversations as the more feasible reality. Whilst only communicating with party members in a PP election appears to be sound practice but I feel it may miss a trick. There is a Congress election just round the corner and no doubt I will be corrected if anything is wrong in this article but the elected PP effectively has the ability to steer the direction of the party. The PP decides who runs for Congress, the order of the candidates, selects the presidential candidate plus probably a lot more. The PP election is a precursor to the Congress election so there is an opportunity to highlight your mandate to eUK electorate if you are in charge of the party.

Now for the candidates who have been vocal in the media. Some have stated policies that are being discussed in Congress which they endorse or have even proposed, this is good as this shows us what they have done in currently/in the past. There have also been statements of what they intent to do in the future, to be honest though they have been the generic statements you would expect from politicians i.e. improve eUK financial, help the less advantaged eUK citizens, build a stronger party, lower taxes. That may sound cynical but they are hardly going to say we will increase taxes and treat you like garbage. If they don’t say positive things than we simply won’t vote for them, reality scares the public and they want the cute and cuddly manifesto no matter if it is impossible to achieve. Sadly though with the promises of a better future I can’t recall anyone proposing any policies to back up their pledges, so we are working on ideals but nothing tangible as of yet. Just reminds me of the following quote:- "The road to damnation is paved with good intentions."
Signing off

That is all from me for now, thank you for taking the time to read the article and I hope it didn't bore you. Please note that is purely my opinion from my viewpoint and does not necessary reflect what actually occurred in the PP elections. I will continue to gradually improve the layout of the publication and where applicable improve the content. As per usual please subscribe, feel free to comment and well you know the drill better than I do. Bye for now.
