The Big Parliament!

Day 3,173, 00:00 Published in Norway Norway by Zinitus

Here are the results from eNorwegian congress-elections for july 2016. This month 32 candidates from all parties ran for congress, and 28 get a parliamentary seat, which is the largest amount in long times. It has already been nick-named "The Big Parliament"!
The turnout also raise comparing towards last election, from 37 to 43, a share of the elctorate of 36,7 %, this time, measured against the number of eNorwegian citizens.

Kvakk: 13 votes (+4) -- 30,23 % (+5,91😵 -- 9 MP`s of 28
NGP: 13 votes (+3) -- 30,23 % (+3,17 😵 -- 9 MP`s of 28
Partiet: 9 votes (+1) -- 20,93 % (+0,69 😵 -- 4 MP`s of 28
TeK: 6 votes (---) -- 13,95 % (- 2,27 😵 -- 4 MP`s of 28
L8: 2 votes (-2) -- 4,65 % (- 6,16 😵 -- 2 MP`s of 28

The overall trend is: The two biggest parties; NGP and Kvakksangerne are still in an increasing trend. Partiet and Tek has stabilised themselves as medium sized parties, after some decline compared to their higher levels earlier this year. L8 is back to "normal"

The Country President, integer syntax speech to the New Parliament:

"A recent discussion with Prime Minister Yanisin brought to mind a quote from Emerson: 'Trust men and they will be true to you; treat them greatly, and they will show themselves great.'

With this most recent congressional election, eNorway has placed its trust in you. You are the largest Congress eNorway has had in a long, long time, which makes this a day worth celebrating. We endured many difficult months, hoping for the day when we could have any democractically elected Congress, let alone one this size.

eNorway's allies treated us greatly just last week, by coming to our aid when the eBosnians launched an unprovoked airstrike against us. With the help of our friends, eNorway delivered a great victory that saw the eBosnians unable to score any points whatsoever in a crushing defeat. Our would-be enemies are now on notice: eNorway may be small and peaceful, but we have friends, and we are ruthless in battle. As a member of Congress, remeber you are also a representative of this country, so treat our friends and allies greatly, for they have already proved themselves to be great.

Now it is up to you to treat eNorway greatly yourself this term so she can show herself to be even greater than before. The most basic way to do this is to respect her laws (if you're not registered on the forum, please contact anyone in the administration for help). The laws we have are few and simple, and they there to protect our democracy and eNorway herself.

Don't be afraid to speak up in Congress; voice your ideas and ask questions, be willing to engage your opposition, and be open to changing your mind. eNorway has fought hard just to have the opportunity to place her trust in you; she deserves nothing but your best and has given the same to you. Now is your time to show yourselves to be great."

Political considerations after the election!
By Zinitus the editor

Now Norwegian Green party, and Kvakksangerne tied the first place together with 9 seats each. Both seems to reach new voters and increased their share of the electorate. The new leader in NGP Jasper Zuidema seems to have an good grip on Joshuas old party, and it seems he is able to reachs new voters in addition too. And Kvakksangerene, with their leader Yanisin, arrived as an whirlwind, earlier this year. After a litte setback last month, it seems like they still have momentum. The questions is: Have they reached the highest potentional yet, and for how long can these two parties continue the progress, they have today?

Among the medium sized parties, Partiet gain new votes, probably because of the visibility of integer syntax`s steady CPresidency, and together with Teknokratene they get 4 seats each. Because of a higher turnout this time, Tek is loosing about 2 % of the telectoral share, but remain the same number of voters as last time. But, if not in stagnation, these two parties do not have a momentum at the moment. But a setback this time, may ignite a fresher reappearance on an later occasion, who knows? Both parties is among the most traditionally parties in our country, and therfore do have a lot of potential.

L8 is halved in both, number of votes, and number in MP`s. Last election in June was a top peak election for L8, but this time they was`nt able to keep these voters. And it looks like this party has resignated, they are not very active and visible on the political scene, and at the moment, they are the only party, not represented in the Government. Maybe this earlier rigth-wing party need a little revolution...?

Today we have an unity Government, including all the 4 biggest parties (L8, as said before, is not represented in current Government). But if we do imagine a parliamentary system inside the new Parliament, with Government supported by the majority of MP`s (at least 15 MP`s needed to get the pluraty), which constellation could be seen?

Majority of 2 parties:
Given such a premise, today it only could happen trough a cooperation between NGP and Kvakk, the two biggest parties. Together they have 18 of 28 seats. A solid plurality.

Majority of 3 parties:
It could of course be based on the alternative above, added by some of the other minor parties, and make an even bigger pluraty!.But if the two big ones do split apart, one of them choose to not participate in Government, the other big one (also with 9 MP`s) would need a support from at least two of the minor parties (9+4+2=15 seats). A very narrow plurality, with a strong opposition based on the remaining parties (9+4=13 seats). It could be an challenging situation in Parliament specially if one or two MP`s choose to vote against their own Government.

And it could be seveal other alternatives too! That would be very happy days for an political interested froggy journalist! But the most likely alternative is however today, to continuing the current unity Government system. And the political interested froggy journalist, will still go around dreaming……

A dreaming froggy journalist.....

By the way - a new column is upcoming:

I would like to do our politics more inteeresting for the common citizens of eNorway, and perhaps abroad too. Today the parliamentary debates, and decitions, takes place in forums, perhaps not easily available for everybody.

Therefore I wish to start a new column in my paper: "News from the Parliament".
By this way I hope to contribute to more information and more public and broader participations in politics from the common man. I dont promise it will be regularly, but as often my time permits me to so.

Have a Nice day, and stay tune!
