Recent History
Anyone that was around just a few months ago will remember The Black Sheep Party as the most outspoken collective of individuals that fought to get our rather harsh 10% tax reduced to a more affordable 8% tax. Along with some allies from other parties we succeeded with great difficulty. Of course this should have never been difficult as the tax was in place to hit a reserve target of 10 million, and when we hit it...it wasn't revoked.

We recently took part in two very large battles, one against Thailand (Who attacked New York) and once against Argentina (Who attacked Mexico). These battles were costly and drained much of our reserves, so it was proposed by our president Tyler Bubblar that we raise our taxes again to get our reserve to where it was prior to the two attacks. The very same faces that refused to reduce the 10% work tax after we met our reserve not only supported this, but took it to the next level and proposed a 12% work tax. As you can now see when you work, they have passed this tax. This leads me to the next section, which is what us Black Sheep with our ideologies think about that.

Black Sheep Ideology
The Black Sheep Party has always been against high taxes. In eRepublik, the game is run by the very people that play it. We believe that if you let the people keep their hard-earned money, you can maintain a strong and unified nation that can perform to the best of its ability as a result. On the other hand, to take money away from the people to sit in a reserve will not result in as much participation in the core battles where we need as much participation as possible; as a direct result of taking the money needed to participate away from the very players you are asking to spam that fight button.

The new 12% tax has given a challenge to our party. We will fight next month to lower this tax back down to 10%, the original "reach a reserve target" tax rate that has worked with flying colors in the past. Our reasons for wanting this is many (and mostly complies with my personal ideals, which are located in the following section). This ranges from a resulting handicap of the economic module that has affected many factory owners, to the simple aspect of being realistic with what is really needed.

If you Vote Black Sheep for Congress on the 25th, we promise we will do our best with the seats you give us to give you, proud eAmericans, a more-affordable tax rate that will make being a factory owner much easier. A reduced tax rate will allow factory owners to continue running their factories without (Or at least with much less) deficit, as well as amply restore our reserves to their previous levels at a substantial rate.

My Thoughts, My Voice
Greetings readers, I am Resoul, a proud member of The Black Sheep Party. I am a member of TBSP's media department and have been a congress member for five consecutive terms now. For the most part I have stayed silent in congress, I have kept my voice down so that the "Big Voices" of congress would take no notice of me. There were some slight exceptions to my silence during the last tax debate, and I am happy to announce I have broken my silence during the emergence of this new tax debate.

Getting right to the point, the recently heightened work tax is the worst handicap I have seen our administration willfully place upon our nation and it's people. When I’ve voiced my opposition to the tax, my opponents trampled me with repetitive statements such as, "We need the 12% work tax in order to restore the reserves. If you do not support our logic then you are anti-American". However the very people that are defending that statement form a clique incorporated of persons who have controlled the government for years as well as “beaten” this game a long time ago. They do not see what I see.

My walls exploded for days after the 12% work tax took effect (and still are pretty active) with messages of persons announcing that they are unable to continue running their factories. Persons looking for a new country to take them in that will allow them to efficiently play eRepublik while still being able to enjoy the economy module in respects with factory ownership. Some (Small minority of the total) people announcing they are quitting the game entirely because they can't stand how their government is running things.

This tax honestly really doesn't affect me. It adds a $0.6 CC difference in the money I make daily, as all I do is work; I do not own factories. However seeing all of the commotion on my walls, hearing more on IRC, and especially seeing the toll that this tax is taking on my MU? I find it astounding that anyone thinks taking the tax to the next level was a good idea. 10% was a number that worked in every aspect. Everyone profited, including the government.

I have made it my personal goal that during this upcoming congressional term I will do my best to have the work tax lowered back down to a fairer rate of 10%. I have tried discussing the situation with my opponents. I told them the things that I saw; the things that they couldn't see from inside their clique. eAmerica has begun to die. People have left, people are still leaving, and a great rift is forming between the pro-tax and anti-tax crowds that will do nothing but weaken our nation when it comes time to hit the fight button. I received insults, and I was told the same repetitive line over and over, "These taxes are helping to strengthen our nation since they are growing our reserve."

To them, I say “No”. Just because you are unable to see outside of your current clique does not mean that you know the entire status of the nation. I know your clique is well-off but that doesn't mean the rest of eAmerica is. I want to secure the best possible future for the average eAmerican citizen, and secure a strong eUSA in the months to come. To do that, I need the help of the very people I am trying to help.

This now leads me to my final words, an offer to all of eUSA.

Concluding
I offer eUSA this. Vote Black Sheep on the 25th. TBSP is a party that shares views very similar to mine, and we will see an eUSA where everyone benefits, not just the treasury, but everyone. Many of our opponents will see the 12% work tax stay til the target is met, hurting our nation every step of the way. I know a powerful few voices that will see the tax stay that high even once the reserve is met. We will not allow that, but we need your help eAmerica. We are a party of individuals, fighting for individuals, just like you. You, the average eAmerican citizen, you are what gives us our strength, and we would like to thank you for all the strength you’ve given us so far.

In my next article I will present to you the many voices that wish to secure a more all-around beneficial future for this nation than the one-sided chasm we are currently breaking into. While we as a party do not share the same exact views we do share a few in common which has united us to obtain 3 goals for our nation. Low Taxes, Unified Community, and Strength as a nation.

Vote Black Sheep on the 25th if you want a stronger, fairer, and more prosperous eUSA.

Thank you for reading and I hope you see you in Part 2 where I will introduce you to the individuals whom you will be voting into Congress should you choose to support us. Have a wonderful day everybody, and Long Live eUSA!
