Today, June 12, 2013, marks the 38th day of the occupation of Ireland by the United Kingdom. I don't know about anybody else, but I'm sick and tired of it. The British think they won. In fact, they've even given out medals to those who helped them continue to oppress us. It's called the Maintenance of Union by Force and Conflict 2013 Ireland Campaign Medal. Here's what it looks like:

Lame, right?

We need to do better. What I think we need is to start giving out medals of our own, this time for things actually worthy of them. Instead of just taking part in the invasion and occupation of a small country like us. Anybody with ideas should pm me or post comments below.

If we were to do something like that, the medals would actually have to mean something. Getting little campaign ribbons for just fighting is fine too, but actual awards for people who make a difference. The Independent Labour Party already does something similar, with their Comrade Awards. The Grey Wolf Party has their Wolf of the Month Award. You don't just get them for following orders, you actually have to make a change.

A few examples. In addition to campaign ribbons, there might be awards for:
- Best Newspaper or Newspaper Article
- Being a Battle Hero
- Helping Out Other Citizens
- Fighting in Resistance Wars
- And so on.
Things that actually mean something.
