Day 2354

Today, I’d like to talk a little about Foreign Policy and Defense. I have alluded to it before and I will say it again. We have some recently formed alliances, but the world is in flux. Never have two central alliances been so weak. Alliances are now, more than ever, a loose association of countries. There has been much negotiating between individual countries that transcends alliance boundaries. I have tried to choose a team of experienced and intelligent people who can navigate these ever-increasingly complicated waters and forge a stable position from which we can project power as needed for ourselves and our chosen allies.
One of major projects these people, along with my VP and CoS, will be a part of is the reformation of the National Security Council. In the past, NSC has not always had the benefit of a foreign affairs perspective and the disjointed actions have caused concern. The new NSC will consist of the CP, NSC Director, SoD, SoS, and USAFOC. Advisors will be appointed as necessary to try to get as complete a picture as possible before taking decisive action. NSC orders will then be carried out by NSC Director and Staff. All this is in an effort to get all our horses to pull the same way. We are not the biggest fish in the pond so every bit of efficiency we can get is worthwhile.
The second half of the new mission of NSC is that NSC will be tasked with communicating regularly with our non-government domestic MUs with the goal of presenting a more unified fighting body that is better able to project power and accomplish goals. Of course, nothing would be compulsory, but it becomes easier for everyone is we are all pulling in the same direction.
Artela will be working as Secretary of State this month. It will be a formidable task in light of the changing world and with her lengthy experience and particularly well-connectedness I feel she is the best person to provide a comprehensive strategy for navigating our new Foreign Policy Challenges. We will be focusing on our alliance, our nearest neighbors and friends and looking about to open channels even in places we might not otherwise consider trying to communicate.
Dmjohnston has signed on as Secretary of Defense. The logistical movement of USAF branches into a single in-game MU is under way and meeting the challenges of having four USAF Branches under one roof will be his primary task this month. He has been intimately involved with the process so far and with his positive contributions, I believe the task, once completed, will be a resounding success.
Deepchill will be facilitating National Security communications and leading his NSC Staff on the never-ending mission to determine efficient use of battle damage and to decipher battle strategy. Not least of those duties will include disseminating priorities and background information to the people who will actually be doing the fighting: all of YOU out there who contribute to our national goals. Deepchill has been working in and around NSC for a few months now and has shown proficiency and even demeanor. I look forward to his significant contribution.
rainy sunday has taken on the Office of United States Armed Forces Operations Commander. She, along with the Secretary of Defense, will be providing for the well-being of all of our soldiers in all of the branches of the USAF. Everything in the USAF is just settling out and it will be up to rainy to keep everything under control and our fighters fighting at the highest capacity. I have known rainy since before I ever held a cabinet position. She helped me get started as a supply person in DoI and even the few times we disagreed over the years, I have always known rainy to be able to empathize with those whom our actions affect and take an even-keeled approach to making our environment as welcoming a place as we can hope for given the parameters of the game. She has the history, knowledge and drive to lead and I know she will do so effectively.
Stay tuned for more about policy and those people that have generously offered to be a part of what I consider to be an all-star team of secretaries and advisors. Next time, I will be covering our domestic leaders. Many are familiar faces, and their expectations will reflect the phenomenal work that is already being done.
Please give this a shout!

"The second half of the new mission of NSC is that NSC will be tasked with communicating regularly with our non-government domestic MUs with the goal of presenting a more unified fighting body that is better able to project power and accomplish goals. Of course, nothing would be compulsory, but it becomes easier for everyone is we are all pulling in the same direction."
This has been done for over half a year. This is something that should be well known by now. Maybe it has been dropped by the previous NSC directors but that was surely up the last time I was around. And if it has been dropped by the previous NSC directors then oh well, that would be Deepchill.
"Deepchill has been working in and around NSC for a few months now and has shown proficiency and even demeanor. I look forward to his significant contribution."
I don't want to be that guy but Deepchill really hasn't shown proficiency at all. NSC has dropped the ball several times these past months with outdated orders to such a degree that soldiers have been right out pissed at NSC for the inactivity. It has gotten slightly better now in the end due to new people like The Norm.
The current NSC also have huge difficulties to take advice from other players, they seem to think all they do is the right choices and no one else can make good suggestions. When I suggested that we drop a battle that was being tanked really hard and had 0 value to us they told me to stfu because I'm retarded, this ended with us losing both the RWs instead (The start of the snowball in Canada + France). I also suggested that we started RWs to unsync them to always have Baja isolated to make it easier to defend, I got 0 answers.
If you want the "common soldiers" to be active, then I'd suggest to get out articles again. Not DoD articles but NSC articles that explains the situation. Show the people what is happening to keep them up to date and informed and they will be of more use on the battlefield.
Getting a few people to idle in an IRC room is not good enough. As far as I know, that was as far as "inclusion" ever went. Of course articles with explanations are part of the regimen. What makes you think articles and explanations are not part of disseminating information?
The NSC's mission is going to be to mold our Foreign Policy and Military strength into an effective strategy then send that info out and down. It is no longer going to function as "war by committee" and that without support from other Executive Offices. The previous method, without strong leadership, leads to endless debate and muddled priorities. Trying to establish a system that minimizes this is worthwhile.
3 for 3. Yesssssss

Heap Seppo with Rs from Molly Emma - nice exchange !
Until the updated NSC can stream a more galvanizing protocol, organizing a nationwide nimble attack will be a challenge - maximizing EBI (Effective Battle Intent) will require improved structural planning and efficient messaging - this will be the way of the future. Running counterpoint to this banded efficiency is one example of distraction - FF medals- the Gold rewards are hard to beat) - this will be the way of ongoing reality. Whether controlling behaviors will be created for players in a governmental MU or letting part-time players without time for IRC / meta-game roam - the GOld reward will continue as an issue.
Therein lies the rub - although not an "apples to apples" comparison, generalized updates from one's political party help educate EAmericans. Perhaps (a short-term patch for) improved battle efforts of the masses demands use of communication lines already establishe😛 Greater collaboration from Government to political party feeds.
For example, speaking from personal perspective within The Federalist Party, up and coming writer WookyJack projects great promise. He prints to one's home page feed quite regularly - as do other political party writers I've learned - much more so than any timely, directed battle orders. Point being, political parties provide excellent communication with their members.
Congrats Molly Emma !
Can't wait to see more greatness !
