The Mutual Protection Pact proposed by Ireland was accepted by Canada.
A trade agreement between Canada and Ireland has been signed. The bilateral Import Tax is 0%
With this our boarders are now protected, Were allied with UK, USA and Canada, all of which we border!
I cant claim much credit for this, as alot of it was setup via the previous government, however I have been chatting with the new presidents to secure relations.
Ive also signed our first Trade Agreement with one of our bordering allies, the plan is to also get USA and UK to Trade with too, this will easily cover our raw material needs!
Phew... right back to sending mails!

Well done to Michael Collins for negotiating this treaty
It was passed last term Igor. It\'s just Cottus (President of Canada) was abit inept at handling his government. Though I agree it should of been ratified by the new congress in place. Usually these votes last 48 Hours or so. I\'m sure Snakeyes will allow a re-ratification if people in new congress (Or indeed public opinion on the whole is against it.) then it can be done. We haven\'t signed the actual treaty in the contracts section yet.
(Just to let you know FD is talking in response to a comment where I ranted about the lack of democracy in the ratification of this treaty. I was since informed that it was negotiated a while ago and deleted the comment)
Its still undemocratic. I have no issue with trade agreements, per se, and I leave it to others more knowledgeable in those ares to decide if specific ones are advantageous, however the MPP is an entirely different story. MPPs lock us in to participating in wars that may or may not have any effect on eIreland, whatsoever.
FD, you said the last Canadian president was not the best at running his government. Suppose he had made a gaff in his foreign policy, irritated some other country and that country attacked Canada. With a MPP, we are now obligated to send troops (eIrish citizens who had no voice and no say in the MPP in the first place) in defence of stupidity. I realize, we all have the right to say no to fighting, but many of us in the IDF and ISDF take our obligation to respond to the country\'s call, seriously. It is only right, we have the opportunity to voice our opinions.

Thus why he isn\'t in Office now. Banach is a sound individual and has a good Foreign Affairs record.
Heres where I stand on MPPs in general.
If the person we have a MPP with is attacked, we defend them with everything we have got.
If the person we have the MPP with is the attacker, we shouldnt assist unless Congress wants to.
The MPP doesnt throw us into war, quite the opposite, it keeps us safer.
@ FD....and? We have absolutely no control over what other governments do. I am certain your estimation of the new Canadian president is accurate, but can you also predict the future? Whose to say he does not lose his mind in two weeks?
No, I prefer to have complete control of my own destiny, then there is no one else to blame or to credit.
I realize I am in the minority. No worries, always have been. I like it that way. All I am saying is, these things should not be something only the members of congress are privy to. If I am going to be sent to fight, I want to at least have been able to voice my opinion on it.
