What is it?

Congress is a very important part of Erepublik and the governing of a country. It is the main legislative, or ‘lawmaking’, body of a nation. The point of it is to make sure that members of the community are included in the course of action of their respective countries. As a Congress member, you decide the political, military and economic future of a country by proposing different laws and voting upon them.

Why should I run for it? What’s in it for me?

You should run for Congress as it makes you more involved in the running of your country. It is an opportunity to enhance your skills while contributing to your country’s development. Members of Congress, with the help of the President, ensure the political and economic stability of the country. Also, if you are elected by your party president to be in Congress, you will be given 20 experience points and a 5 gold reward. However, earning 5 gold is not sufficient reasoning for running for Congress. You must be prepared to give some more time to Erepublik to help in the running of your respective country, which for most of you would be eAustralia.

I’m in! How do I sign up?

To become a member of congress, you must first wait until the Congress elections happen, which is on the 25th of each month. At 00:00 (eRepublik time) on the 26th of each month, the voting ends for the Congressional candidates. The voting is the priority list made by the party president in which the admins will go through to choose those who are a) real players and b) not multi-accounts. From 00:00 until 06:00 on the 26th, the admins will be doing this, and after that, you are awarded your gold and experience and are thus a member of Congress.
