“I'm old enough to know that a longer life isn't always a better one. In the end, you just get tired; tired of the struggle, tired of losing everyone that matters to you, tired of watching everything you love turn to dust.” – Tenth Doctor

Dear Readers,

When last I wrote, I was newly embarked on a mysterious trip to the eBanana Republic of Nohjium with an odd assortment of presidents, past and present eBelgians, Dental Corps, and eventually a couple of stowaways. As noted, I was also in deep eMourning for my late eHusband and much of what we had fought for in our time together. However, as I know he would wish, I was determined to try to find some good remaining in the eWorld.

On arrival, I settled into a nice 2-bedroom suite with Elynea and started trying to figure out just what I was doing there. The answer not immediately presenting itself, I decided to investigate the culture of this exotic island.

The first thing a visitor may notice is the presence of a large number of minions. The reason for this is not immediately apparent, as there is certainly no sign of eGru, and conversation with the minions themselves is not really enlightening. Their language is obscure, to say the least. Even utilizing my secret spy decoder ring, which translates a few more languages at slightly lower accuracy than eGoogle translate, I couldn’t understand much. One thing I was able to learn, however is that they seem to be uniformly devoted to the eBanana Goddess. There are some unusual temples dedicated to her, and the minions are known to love bananas above almost anything else. The question is, why?

Ely and I can really enjoy bananas…

but clearly minions love them more.

I’ve long had an interest in eReligions, have been a follower of Aldous the Meek (i.e., I am a Zamiatinist, or Beerist) since he still walked the eEarth, and have made a bit of study of eTheology (okay, I read some Wiki pages); however, the eBanana Goddess is something new to me. To get a bit more background information, I visited the local library.

The librarian’s rather odd looking and doesn’t say much except “ook”, but he really knows his bananas!

As part of our learning experience, Ely and I also started learning a banana dance.

Ely really gets into the spirit of things!

Here’s what I’ve learned so far:

- The eBanana Goddess is believed to live in a remote mountain banana grove somewhere on this island.
- Minions believe they will be rewarded with 42 renewable ripe bananas if they are sufficiently loyal and hard working.
- As is so often the case, those less than 100 years old or so tend to be a bit skeptical of the old ways. There are rumors of dissent on the island. Some say this lack of faith is a sign of the last eDays.

That’s not much to go on, but I’m determined to get to the bottom of what’s going on here. Watch this page for more to come…

NOTES
1. The more perceptive among you – and of course all of my readers are highly perceptive – will have noticed that I am publishing from a new location. In honor of Cotarius, I have decided to try to rebuild my eLife, and have changed my citizenship and MU to make a fresh start. I have been kindly welcomed back to the eUS and into EZC by some old friends, and joined here by some of those who knew and loved Cotarius in this eLife. Together, we will try to find the fun again.

2. Just to make things a bit more interesting, I am offering 10 Q7 tanks to the first person who identifies the Dr. Who episode that is the source of the opening quotation.

3. A further 10 Q7 tanks will go to the first to identify the mysterious librarian and where he came from.

4. Ten more Q7 if you can explain why 42 bananas.

5. If you give me a good reason in the comments, I just might give you some tanks, too.
