[Don] Once we were Brothers!

Day 3,967, 06:23 Published in Ireland Croatia by Khutawyra101

Hello everyone!

There’s one country Ireland has always been friend with, a country we respected almost like no other. It was a warrior’s country, brave community which weren’t afraid to fly anywhere for their allies and most importantly they’d always choose friendship and honor before their own stability and safety. It was not only good for us as their allies, it was also good for them, because they’ve made us feel the same about them and do the same for them. In my honest opinion there were just two countries with such a strong dedication level. Croatia and...Bulgaria. This article is for the latter one, our ex-Friends, our ex-brothers we did everything for.

This is a story about them and our relations through the history. Our relation often moved the mountains and changed things, even if it doesn’t look like that. It all started long time ago, so it might be great if we start from the beginning. Beginning when being an ally of someone meant much more than having an MPP and fighting your own TW’s and once their in your control focusing on your ally. Because that’s not really how I imagine allies.

GLORIOUS EDEN

An alliance respected by everyone and loved by it’s members, it symbolises the old Erepublik in which we all played for our allies, for our alliance. It was sacred thing. In that time, long time ago, doing anything which could damage your ally’s chance to win was considered as a terrible move. No one even considered creating a TW, starting a RW or anything similar not to drain it’s ally when they have an important battle. Back then, the game was different and allies were made to care more about each others even by game mechanics, unlike now. That alliance name was EDEN.

Ireland was a long time member of EDEN, same as the heroes of this story - Bulgaria. Other members were Greece, Romania, Poland, Spain and many others. Bulgarians, Greeks and Croats had the best relations with Ireland and we enjoyed playing with them, it was our pleasure and honor. If they asked us to do anything, including wiping ourselves we’d do it for them because we knew they’d do the same with us. I can’t remember a thing I’d change from that period. I was a member of EDEN HQ as a Military Commander (MC). Before that I was serving as aMC. Those roles had a task to coordinated and plan battles and tactics.

I was also just becoming an Irish President back then and in that time Bulgaria was probably the most motivated country to fight for Ireland (them and Croats). We enjoyed it. I’ve met many great Bulgarians and fall in love with them. Windfall was a Bulgarian guy in HQ I remember. He played a crucial role in the future Irish decisions regarding EDEN.

Everything was perfect until something new happened. Bulgaria was an enemy of Turkey for almost whole the game. They’ve had some internal thingies in Bulgaria and someone there agreed to accept Turkey as a trial member. Bulgarians went mad and that guy was changed for someone new who respected the wishes of eBulgarians not to accept Turkey. At that moment EDEN has already started the procedure to get Turkey in. It was misunderstanding at start, but then it became ugly. EDEN was pushing for Turkey to get in, while Bulgaria has been getting more and more mad about them.

*one example of propaganda material from back then

We, the Irish, were the only EDEN member to back Bulgaria because we felt that making an alliance stronger by making one of your members unhappy isn’t the way to go. There’s been massive propaganda war, loads of wrong informations and eventually decision time has came. EDEN has decided to accept Turkey fully, while Bulgaria got mad and threatened to leave the alliance. Back then it was a shocking thing to witness because those things didn’t happen often. Countries still had honor.

Windfall was the one who explained us, the Irish, why they don’t want Turkey in and we agreed with him. Bulgaria had a legit right to reject Turkey as a full member of EDEN. However, turkish representatives were already in all the messages and everything else so Bulgarians backed off. When the voting moment has came Bulgaria wasn’t there, I don’t remember why, but they were probably protesting that way.

It was whole EDEN, including Ireland on the meeting. The outcome of the vote was all in favour of Turkish joining except Ireland. We used our veto on Turkey. We were still hoping Bulgaria would stay in EDEN if we do that. But at that moment it was too late, Bulgaria felt really bad about how EDEN treated them (and they had every right to feel that way). I know this will cause many of my friends to get mad at me, but I was there the whole time and I know the truth. Many will say that Bulgaria was working behind EDEN’s backs to get in the other alliance, but even if they did so, they surely didn’t pull the trigger first, it was just their reaction on the persistant initiative by EDEN’s HQ. That very same HQ had Romanian representatives as well as Greeks who later left EDEN. I don’t even have to say what happened to Romania.

Long story short, on the next meeting Ireland has used its veto again and everyone from EDEN was mad at was. We were facing strong threats and many wanted to kick us out because of that. We weren’t afraid as we knew we’re doing the right thing. We knew that, if we let this happen it will be the end of EDEN, it will mean that if alliance such EDEN was can’t keep in this game everything will change soon. So, after the second veto by Ireland we’ve decided to leave the alliance 1 month later. EDEN was stronger than before damage wise, but the old spirit of unity has never returned and although we’ve stayed in friendly relations with EDEN member it was never the same. Our alliance has falled apart within few months. We were saying that’s going to happen. Romania has left and joined Serbs, Greece left, Poland and Spain left much earlier as well. It was an end of an Era.

IRISH-BULGARIAN RELATIONS

Bulgaria was very grateful to what Ireland did. Our relations kept growing and at that time I can tell we were best allies of Bulgaria and they were our best friends too. We even fought against some of our allies to help them out, but only after the other allies would attack them. Time after time, we were accussed of sitting on two chairs because we simply kept all of our allies close. We didn’t want to choose between Croatia and Bulgaria and that was something which decided the future of Irish diplomatic relations.

Soon after that new alliances were born. I’ll skip few of them, but the next main event was founding Sirius. It made our decision much easier then. One thing we, as a country can’t stand is our allies pushing us to do something. It’s okay to give a suggestion and it’s okay to try to convince us, but the first time you start threating it’s over.

Sirius was made by Croatia mostly, USA too, but Croatia was the main country in Irish interests as we considered them as our best allies, as well as Bulgaria. eCroatia back then called me a “bulgarian” for giving them ultimate support, but I believe they did kinda understand and regardless of that we’ve kept our relations. A shock came when they’ve invited UK to the Sirius. The very same UK we fought against for years, very same UK was invited before us. We couldn’t believe that and we felt hurt. It made our decision in choosing much easier.

We’ve decided to keep good relations with Sirius regardless of UK being there as we didnt want to lose friends from there, but we couldn’t imagine ourselves being proSirius or wait for them to call us in. Not with UK in.

LOYALTY, LIBERTY, DIGNITY!

Ireland, Bulgaria, Chile, Indonesia, N.Macedonia, Mexico, Germany, Venezuela and few other countries has decided to found its own alliance. An alliance which would have foundations on the honor and friendship. We knew we won’t be the strongest side, but we’ve decided to keep doing what we do the best - fight for each others. Back then, Sirius was our friendly alliance and we kinda cooperated. Aurora had massive success in its start. I remember many great neutral articles on the alliance. We were even respected by enemies too. First several months of the alliance were perfect. We was never afraid to fight bigger sides and we had the best military organization within the alliance ever seen until then. Aurora was a new dawn and it made people think it’s still possible to play that way, with respect and honor to your allies. Ireland did Airstrikes on much stronger countries to help its allies, especially Bulgarians.

Bulgarians fought for Ireland any time we had a battle. It was a true brotherhood. I still consider all the Bulgarians who took part in Aurora’s HQ as my good friends, even if we don’t agree nowadays, even if there were so much bad blood recently. For some reason, this was the best time of my eLife. I enjoyed playing for Aurora. I’d spend many hours just working on its internal organization and it worked perfectly. We were small, but well coordinated.

I felt like it will never come to an end, but it did. I left HQ as I was there for a long time and some new people arrived. I don’t really know what happened there later, but it didn’t last for long. Aurora started to fall apart. It was more because of end of Sirius. Sirius died and the other side, Asteria/TWO focused on destroying Aurora. It didn’t took them long. At that time Asteria/TWO was by far strongest alliance. Greece, Romania, Serbia and many other countries were too strong for us to cope with them. It was the end of alliance, but not nearly the end of Irish-Bulgarian relations, we were still friends.

CHANGES

After Aurora there were few more attempts to start something new, but it never worked. Some time has passed and our side was weaker. Bulgaria still hated Croatia and the opposite too. It worked great for Asteria. Two strongest Anti Asteria countries hated each others. In the meantime Greece left Asteria and joined “our” side. After many years of civil war in Greece they were back to Croatian side. It was a moment when Bulgaria and N.Macedonia could start their relations with Serbia. It was also something Ireland didn’t like because we still didn’t want to lose Croatia and others from Anti Asteria. Especially Chile.

During all this time both Croats and Bulgarians helped us and we just didn’t want to be in a situation to choose between them. Bulgaria did Airstrikes to help us against Lithuania, Croatia helped massively with support too. Time has been passing and things were changing. It was more than obvious that Bulgaria will join proAsteria side. We would respect their decision and we would be happy to stay their allies until they did the same thing Croatia did in Sirius.

Bulgaria has decided to sign an MPP with United Kingdom. We asked them not to do it, but they knew it’s a way to proAsteria side. It turned out well for them, they got accepted by Asteria, but Ireland couldn’t follow. I still remember how sad I was when this happened. I knew that at that point there’s no chance we could stay friends with both Croatia and Bulgaria.

The difference between what Croatia did with Sirius (MPP UK) and what Bulgaria did with Asteria (MPP UK) was that Croatia were still on “our side”, while Bulgaria has decided to shift to the opposite side. It was the end of friendship. Soon after that Ireland has attacked the UK and many Bulgarians came on their side and fought with UK. We expected that, but not in that amount. They were building their way to proAsteria, and they were mad at us for not following them, they were mad because we’ve signed MPP with Croatia again.

ESCALATION

Governments has changed, new people arrived. Not only in Bulgaria, but in most of eWorld. I seemed that everyone forgot about once great friendship. I kinda understood Bulgarians fighting against us as long as it wasn’t directly against Ireland. At that moment Ireland did Airstrike on Australia. Bulgarians has decided to break that and came with mobile forces led by Mattrim. They kicked us out and it was the end of our relations.

Ireland has decided to answer with massive tanking against them and it was the final end of everything. Which is sad really. I still had loads of friends in Bulgaria. I loved them like I never loved anyone else. I’ve still been called a “Bulgarian” in Croatia and everyone has been telling me “We told you!”. It was time when I decided to stop playing actively for a while. I didn’t really have a motive anymore because all the countries except Croatia, Ireland, Albania and Bosnia changed their side. There were no long time friendships, there was no one to fight for.

Bulgarians started propaganda that Ireland was PTO’d by Croats and that I was the main guy who did that. It wasn’t started by my friends in Bulgaria, but eventually they’ve accepted it. In the months after it was sad to watch the amount of hate between the two countries. Afterall, we were best friends for a long period of time.

We’re both very allies orientate countries. Not many big countries can be called a great allies. Croatia and Bulgaria are the symbol of that kind of countries and that’s why we shared pure love with both of them for such a long time. Greece was once like that too, it seems they getting back there as well. N.Macedonia has its periods when they were the same. Chile too. But, the only two with constant support to its allies are Bulgaria and Croatia. They are like small, proud country among the big ones.

They are the Ireland of the big countries.

Ireland will never change, we’ll always be the same. We have a great community here, a great, honest people ready to help. It’s just sad that other, very similar people has decided to construct their minds in such a terrible way..

Afterall,
Once we were brothes.
