Why we need a new President

Day 2,327, 09:16 Published in USA USA by Jefferson Locke

So far, this has been a very interesting election. We see an incumbent in Gnilraps running for re-election against both Tyler Buublar and Aramec.

Tyler B should be the President of the United States because of his work ethic, ability to rally people and lead them to accomplish goals, his cabinet, and his integrity as a player.

I know what you are thinking right now. You are thinking to yourself “well, Gnilraps has a solid work ethic”. Which is very true; when he is engaged, he has a work ethic that is amazing. However, this brings me to my first problem with giving Gnilraps a second term. He isn't that engaged right now. He is someone who was talked into running for CP a second time by his supporters Pfeiffer and Israel Stevens when he had NO intention of doing so, and now is simply along for the ride.

I can’t support a President that was not going to run until after they were nominated in the AMP primary, and that actually missed the deadline of many of the other parties Primaries. That does not seem to me to be someone that is 100% engaged in leading our nation.

I would prefer to have a CP that didn’t have to be talked into doing it. It’s a hard job, and when things go south, if your heart isn’t 100% in it, things can get ugly very fast. He will tell you that he is in fact 100% in it, but here is why I disagree with that:

You can tell how involved someone is in the idea of being CP by how they run their race.
His campaign has consisted of two articles. He will tell you that this is because he entered the race later than expected, but that brings up a problem in and of itself.

One of his articles, the last one, is nothing more than “I love the idea of a second term”. That’s it.

Nothing about foreign affairs. Nothing about his plans. Nothing about his cabinet. Just “I love the idea of a second term.” Two short articles from one of the best writers in erepublik, and that’s supposed to convince me that he is 100% in it and motivated?

You can’t fight apathy in this game if your Presidential run is rife with it.

He and his supporters are painting this as a race all about the USAF. They are painting a picture of a decisive, steady handed Gnilraps to steer the ship. However, not being able to make a decision on whether to run again doesn’t seem like it is very decisive nor steady handed.

His campaign has also not shown that he can lead his cabinet to accomplish goals. I say this for one reason: He simply has not bothered to put out an article about his cabinet. Gnilraps, the President of the United States, HAS NOT BOTHERED to put out an article about his cabinet. Can you imagine the hell that Pfeiffer and Israel Stevens would give someone if they hadn’t bothered to do this on the day before the election?

You might be thinking that it’s because he is going to keep his cabinet the same, right? After all, he is an incumbent. So allow me to quote him: “Not everyone I've worked with this past month will be kept on, some will move into new roles, and I know a few who don't want to continue.” That is from the article listed above. It doesn’t sound like he is going to keep the same cabinet there, he says himself that the cabinet will not be the same. Even if he will keep the same cabinet, the American people deserve to know that before they vote tomorrow.

So where is his cabinet? Where is his article? Where is his ideas?

I could actually be your next Secretary of State, but none of you would know!

He is running on his name being Gnilraps and the USAF. That’s it, nothing else. To me that is a problem. We don’t need a President that has a famous name, we need a president that will be fully engaged. We need someone that WANTS to be your President without having to be talked into it by Israel Stevens. (http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/gnilraps-amp-afa-2388441/1/20)

We need Tyler Buublar.

With that said, I didn’t touch on the integrity part from earlier. That’s because I wouldn’t dare to question Gnilrap’s integrity. He is a man of great integrity, and his first month in office went generally well. I am just worried about this next month. The major problem we face as a nation right now is apathy amongst our citizens. The way to fight that apathy is not to run a campaign that showcases the very apathy that we are trying to fight off.
