Day 2,812 is today. Day 2,655 was 157 days ago, which is about 5 months. Over this period 15,261 'active citizens' stopped using eRepublik. This is an alarmingly high number. However I have more alarming news...

'Active citizens' is a term that is used to describe all citizens that are not 'dead'. Once a citizen is 'dead' they are not counted as an active citizen and their account is officially dormant. This means they do not count towards the official game statistics. However some accounts have never been alive in any sense of the word yet are still classified as alive (i.e. not officially dead). For example here are some people that have signed up to play eRepublik using my invite link:

He is not marked as 'dead citizen', which means he is counted as an 'active citizen'.

Others who have signed up using my invite link include: zed002, damian12345678, Kevin rosa amdrade, petike25, malay comando and Anna Raudsepp. That is 7 people I have just shown who are officially alive - but should not be counted as active citizens.

The number of actual players in eRepublik is not 77,464 as the game would suggest but in fact much, much lower. Accounts like these need to be officially labelled as dead. Then we can get a real figure of how many people are playing this game.

Let me get back on topic. In 157 days we have lost 15,261 active citizens. If this continues at exactly the same rate there will be no people playing in 5 years time. However the rate of players will not decrease at the same rate as currently. When the game gets quieter and quieter more and more people will leave adding to the speed of the decrease. In reality eRepublik is likely to be gone before 5 years are up.

What can be done to save eRepublik?

eRepublik is a game. People play it because they like it or don't play it because they don't like it. The total number of 'active citizens' going down shows more people don't like eRepublik than there are new people joining, liking eRepublik.

There is 1 thing that can save eRepublik and 1 thing only. The administrators of this game must listen to, and engage with the community!

Listen to feedback and new ways for feedback to be given

- Communication from the admins only comes in 'latest updates'. This is not good enough. Bring back Plato's newspaper and publish the updates in there. That way there will be a way to see people's feedback in the comments on specific updates. The admins then will also be able to gauge how popular changes are by how many votes the article gets.

- I see people's issues not being addressed on the forum. Just ignored. This must change, people with criticisms should be addressed. The logic of every move the admin team makes should be explained (or explainable) so people understand why things are changing not just getting ignored.

- Polls. Why are the players not asked their opinions in polls? Players have opinions and desires, why not find out directly what people want?
