So, Dictators aren't really Dictators.

Hello guys,

A short while back admins introduced this new feature in the game called Dictatorship. After initial bawww I decided to wait and see how things will start to play out before I make my judgement on this innovation.

Now I must say it has a potential to be something interesting, but not the way it is implemented.

Who is usually a dictator? In short, a public figure, individual, that has enough charisma and power to take over the country. He has to be a face of the revolution that will attract supporters.
And in eRepublik it could be anyone, just as long as he leads a military unit that has 200K cc on it’s account. Other MU commanders can’t even know who is starting a revolution until they support it.

Secondly, it’s far to easy to become a Dictator in eRep. Just one short battle in the capital region and it’s all over. Opponents can just get on their knees, give him all the money and organizations and that’s it.
And third, Dictator can be switched in a moment, just by changing a commander of the Military Unit that started the revolution. As I said before, way too easy.

How to make it more realistic and in the same time more interesting for players?

It has to be about one player that will be a figurehead of the revolution, just as a candidate for CP is a figurehead for his party and supporters.
Give us two ways to become a dictator, political and military. One would be for a newly elected President to proclaim himself a Dictator, and the other for a single player to start a revolution in one region and to gather support of military units (and individuals) before a battle starts.
Some orgs should be treated as offshore bank accounts and as such not accessible to the Dictator.

If there is any interest in this article I might elaborate more on the subject.

TL😉R

-This change can be good, but needs some modifications.
-Players aren't dictators, Military Units are.

Take care (:
