On distorted view of political module in eUK

Day 2,161, 04:54 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by THE EMPRAH

Hello everyone,

I’m not in the habit of writing articles, but the internal political strife in eUK, these last few days, has escalated to a point that made me take some time and speak my mind on this subject. For those few willing to hear it.

I am referring to a strife that is happening between CP and his ministers on one side and congress members on the other. Don’t get me wrong, I find it quite refreshing in comparison to our usual bickering on party levels. Sadly, at it’s core there are still parties, but I’ll come back to that later perhaps.

Distribution of political power i.e. where does the power lie.

Who holds the power?

Is it all in the hands of CP and as extension of his will, his handpicked Ministers?
Is it in congress? Filled with members from different political parties, some of whom won’t even speak to each other, let alone show some respect to their adversaries.
Or maybe Party Presidents? Who alone have the power to nominate and support candidates for both CP and CM positions.

The obvious and simple answer is all of them. ALL of them.

Congress and the limitations imposed on it’s independent thought.

On more than one occasion I’ve rolled my eyes seeing some ludicrous law proposal put before the congress. Some of those were out of inexperience, some born of desire to hurt our country, and some simply proposed for fun.
But we must keep in mind that every single law proposal made by a congress member is legitimate. There is no such thing as a rogue proposal, as they are called so often. By the power vested in them by the people of eUK, Congress Members have the right to propose any law they deem fit. And by that same power the rest of the congress has to judge that proposal with conscience and sound mind.

Distorted image of congress.

The problem we have at hands right now is that congress is looked upon as a group of mindless drones that will click yes or no simply based on the instructions sent from above. Those instructions almost always come in the form of suggestion and advice, but when they aren’t followed all hell breaks loose. Insults are thrown, articles get written, fingers pointed. This is usually an effective way to silence any form of congress independance, simply because most of the people don’t want to be publicly scorned.

Yet simple truth is that in this game, we have a certain set of rules imposed by game mechanics and no amount of rhetoric can change that. And by those rules, congress has far more authority and responsibility than it might seem. For example, CP can not disband congress, but congress can impeach CP. No war can start without congress approval. No set of taxes can be changed. No one can gain citizenship without member of the congress approving it.

Somehow, in the eyes of our Presidents, congress became just a necessary nuisance. That has to change.

I do apologize for this long winded article,
