Tomorrow at 7.28 marks the 100 year anniversary of the battle of the Somme



A One minute silence is being held up and down the country at this time, I hope you all respect this.

At this time my thoughts goes to my own family who fought in this war, below I have included a photo of my Great Great Grandad Martin John Martin this was taken in 1917 in France, I also had my other Great Great Grandad John Alfred Bilby fighting in France both survived this war, but my Great Great Uncle Harry Tutton Died whilst fighting in India.

19,240 British troops died that day, Brave young men who served the country proud.

Many also died from the commonwealth fighting for King and Empire these were British Empire Australia, Bermuda, Canada, India, New Foundland ,New Zealand, South Afica, South Rhodesia and France.

Many died from Germany our human brothers.
