A recent deal with the country eSpain and Alliance Hydra, saw Spain leave the alliance in peace and return to a neutral stance, i got an interview with the person who headed the deal; Dios ArGeNS
Interview
1. How did you first get involved in this deal?
1. Let's see, this will be the last interview I do and for now the last time I talk about this, because honestly in my opinion a decades-long friendship with MKD was lost and it is not at all pleasant to see how each country has taken a very different path.
I will tell you, and let this be clear, I am from the old Asteria Guard in Spain. When Spain was invaded by Code, it was the CP that liberated it in approximately 15 days, defeating all the countries, except Croatia (it was in its prime). Once we liberated the peninsula we went to liberate the USA, the battle against Chile being a turning point at that time and from there CODE, thanks to the joint effort of eSpain, eSerbia and eUsa, abandoned our American ally. Not content with that, we liberated Lithuania and Iran...and invaded Thailand in a macro operation.
Why am I giving you this introduction? It is so that you understand why I came to lead Spain during this invasion... I am a CP for times of war, for times when everything is lost and I am a player who, by getting involved in the way that I am, I have the gratitude of many countries for the joint work and aid provided in the past. With all this context, I will tell you that it was quite painful at the game level to have to fight against former allies, like Lithuania or MKD, but for Spain you fight against the entire world if necessary. The agreement itself was achieved thanks to the diplomatic help of the USA and SERBIA, that is why they will always have my damage against whoever and whenever, and after military victories against Lithuania that left MKD alone on the peninsula.
Spain did not want to sign the treaty due to the dynamics of the war that were in our favor, but we understood that we had to somehow thank Asteria for its help and close that bleeding of damage quickly. If the war had not ended, we would have taken advantage of the free regions to invade Lithuania and force peace with MKD and destroyed Cuba, literally... Spain is old accounts, full warehouses and one of the best diplomacy in the game.
But I tell you honestly, luckily it stopped in another way and I hope in a while to return to having the relationship of affection and respect that we have always had with MKD.
2. What does this deal mean for your country?
2. Nothing, it was a way to stop the bleeding of damage that was destabilizing the entire eRepublikano world. For the rest, 90% of Spain did not want to stop but understood that it was necessary and fair. Although it was not included in the treaty...there was a part, which remained secret, where we also protected our small allies such as Japan, UAE, Pakistan, etc...
3. how do you feel about its effect on Hydra?
3. I sincerely believe that HYDRA hid a little what it meant for a single country to face an entire alliance and end up in a draw, dressing it up as a victory when they themselves know that is not the case.
Lithuania was left dry, and MKD was left alone against us, Belarus left and many countries closed their TW with Hydra countries because of this war...over time they recovered them, but the whole world diplomatically confronted them and supported us. one must ask, Do you think this was a defeat for Spain?
4. what do you say towards any opposition to this?
4. I think that everyone who has opposed this has been either opportunistic, for example the CODE countries that were freed thanks to the fact that most of the eR damage was in our battles. or those people who do not understand the dynamics of the game and talk for free, those are the worst...at least the opportunists have a reason...but oh well.

1. As someone that plays in eSpain and monitored daily orders, articles and the people`s comments i can state that you are overselling the Spanish damage.
2. Hiding behind "congress delays" is not strong diplomacy

Wish the interview was longer .o?
I’m confused about the what the interview is supposed to be about, it comes across like Dios and Gavin are having two different conversations. For example the opening seems to suggest that Spain has left Hydra and become neutral recently, however Spain left Hydra 2 years ago or so and joined the Pacifica alliance over a month ago.
Unfortunately as well I think there’s a ton of context required missing that’s required for the interview as to what has happened with Cuba and its impact geopolitically which is necessary to understand Dios’ answers.
I hope some good support and suggestions were given to the author (unnamed) from Gov as I expect a few readers could have been confused. I'm not a fan of sending a set of questions and publishing answers without some follow up or just useful formatting/clarification. It's a bit tucker carlson for my taste 😃
It would be most interesting to hear some Cuban perspectives on the situation in Cuba, which is what has precipitated this deal.

I've had a couple of convos over the months, and the tl;dr of the Cuban crisis is that there's is a spanish side and a hydra side fighting over political power and dictators. They all stopped fighting about it in December and Spain agreed to be less involved, I wasn't sure if this is what this interview was about but D I V O helped me understand the link.
The interesting parts are the references to freeing up damage for Asteria, it is interesting to think all the fighting in Cuba was having an impact around the world.
