HUpakolas - the Emperor and President of eHungary

Day 2,260, 04:47 Published in Hungary Hungary by Nalaja
Is he mad? Does he know what he is doing? How could the Hungarians choose this guy as president? - I've got the questions from the friends from abroad. At the last quarter of his Reign and Presidency, it is time to give some kind of answer. First of all, I have to admit - throw me before the squirrels!! - that I voted for him, too. The possibility was simply too tempting. He is HUpakolas, aka. Hupák or Hupi as nicknames.

Second, he is not mad and I'm sure he is more or less knowing well what he is doing. As a very good troll, he is a clever person and player. I don't know him personally but I could guess he is much more clever than many of us would imagine. He is not a beginner: he'd run for presidency about twenty (!) times. Once he was a president when occurred to be the second at the election and after an impeach, he became the first man - but not logged in to the game at all, and after a week the congress re-impeached the previous president (quite a joke in itself!). Hupi was really quite surprised later. 'Don't tell I was a president indeed...' 🙂

He is a man of joke, but quality joke. His party, the 'Imperial MKKP' refers to a joke party of the RL Hungarian politics (which also deserves a good joke party). MKKP stands for 'Magyar Kétfarkú Kutya Párt', the Hungarian Party of Two-tailed Dogs. Indeed, no joke. 'Imperial', because Hupi declared himself the Ruler and Emperor in the Holy Name of Djozikeism, the 'religion' around him. I'm not and expert of this 'church', the name itself refers to a famous Hungarian Roma showman, Győzike, decide about him yourself. A joke. Many comments under Hupi's articles tell 'Áldassék' - Be Blessed - because of this.

How could he became president? Quite easy. The eHungarian political system (as well as the whole in eRepublik I think) became to be impossible to accomplish its main mission: to express the different opinions, organize and mix them into a common, national plan. Instead, as was mainly pre-set by the game structure, the party system became more or less the projection of some large military units, whose members are quite mixed from the point of view of political opinions. In fact, now in eHungary, there is almost only one important political issue: if the TWO dissolves, who to ally with: Serbia or Poland? A month ago there were almost no clear 'party opinions' in this question, now it is slowly forming.

And as the politics loses its attraction, its common value to the community, the parties act in no political way: they more and more neglected the presidential elections. Finally, in early January, there was a candidate list, in which we had Laurh, a veteran politicial, former president but without a single election article, a candidate of the Soldiers' Party, who said in the final hour he would not act as president (you all could cite similar cases in all countries). HUpakolas seemed to be the funny choice and, in fact, the most 'serious' candidate.

If you want to understand him, forget anything about game mechanism, about regions, alliances, bonuses, trade routes. Forget anything. Who the f-ing cares? (WTFC) Just one thing is important: FUN. Launching an airstrike against Singapore? Does it have any reason? WTFC. Fun. It was (khm, would be) the first airstrike in the eHungarian history. Do we lose our key bonuses during this? WHTC. The eHungarian community, at least its relative majority was full of reasons, and wanted fun, wanted to laugh, even for just a month. We've got it. Unfortunately, the connection between him and the Congress became frozen quickly. That's a pity, with better cooperation if could have been much more fun. 🙂

However, there is a very important function of the trolls, and especially of a trolling presidency. The function of the chaos. It stops to act according to the well known, well familiar ways in many aspects. And if the situation is not in a stable position (local minimum), it often leads to change (see figure above). This is the case of the TWO alliance. If an alliance is stable, it easily survives a mad or a troll presidency as it was seen many times in the past. However, if they are hidden tensions, they become visible and imminent quickly. I don't say the TWO started to dissolve because of Hupi's presidency, but it was one of the final straws, of course. And finally, it leads to the clarification of the eHungarian politics: now the parties start to positioning themselves in the Serbia vs Poland field. The only strategic problem is that HU would be interested to be in this unstable pseudo-alliance as soon as possible, but again, WTFC? Fun. As Feherlo said many times: This is how it goes, that's it.

And of course, it is another possibility: Hupi makes all of these things without any second thought, occasionally, just for fun, and now he is laughing out loudly reading my completely false pseudo-analysis. 😃 😃

But dear allies, dear friends, even our dear opponents, we just wanted a month of fun and we've got it. It will be over in early February, we'll act again in very strict and official way. We need such a 'valve' in every few years.
