Elections in Warfare

Day 2,783, 19:52 Published in Philippines Philippines by Jans007

A fellow jounalist has written an article about the elections in our dear republic of ePhilippines. I have to say I concur 100% with the views expressed over there. Yes, the elections are pretty much tied at 50%; and although in any other ocassion that would be a reason for national joy at a show of civilized democracy, the reality is that in these perilous times that is not the case.

We are at war my fellow ePinoys. We are at war, our land has been invaded by an enemy both brutal and cruel. An enemy that takes what is not rightfully his, and enslaves our population. Our politicians should be doing something about it; after all that is the reason for thier existence, to safeguard us as a country. But I see that to our politicians, the elections to see who is the new President of part of a country are more important than reclaiming our country, our enation.

I issue a call for cancelling our elections and that all political parties should join together in a truce to fight off the enemy. Once the war has been concluded with the victory of our brave armed forces (for we won't give an inch of our sacred land to anyone) we can have all the elections we desire. The ancient Romans used to do the same thing; in times of peril for the Republic, the Senate was given power to enact legislature and run the government. This is a time of great peril for our erepublik. Let's stop with the nonsense of political fanfarre and emptiness of a valueless election, and let us join together until we expel the invader from our sacred land.

Long live our nation of the ePhilippines.
