[ PCP ] PP Primary Results & ATO Action

Good Afternoon everyone,

This will be a very short article from me, First I just want to say thank you for allowing me to be the Spokesman of the PCP this last month. It really is always a pleasure and I'm sorry I didn't get everything done I was hoping to do. Someone raised the point that I'm not a good delegator, When it comes to being PP I have to admit now that's probably correct.

However we now need to start looking forward and with that the Party Presidency Primary has been conducted.

While we have a clear winner, we also have the positive of a new player doing pretty well and starting to get involved more and more. And I'm sure I'm not the only one glad to see that.

Vote Share

So congratulations to Teppishc who has won the privilege of being Spokesman for April and of course commiserations to KieranB, I'm sure your time will come 🙂

Voter Turnout

We had 28% of those elligible cast a vote, I know a couple weren't keen on voting or felt that it wasn't their place to cast a vote this month, which is fair enough.

However it'd be great to try and get this percentage higher. Although nearly 1/3 really isn't that bad when it comes to a party primary. Which I'm sure other parties can confirm.

As many of you will already know the eUK is currently under threat of a hostile PTO by the Cipelici (otherwise known in english as 'The Shoe People'). They have a candidate openly attempting to PTO UKRP and of course another in what should be, and hopefully will be once more, the UKPP.

Since when did knowledge of people's voting become a free-for-all. It should always be kept confidential unless the voters give you permission, and I'm fairly certain you didn't ask for any ones permission. You are potentially discouraging people from taking part, for fear of vilification from where they voted.

I know a lot of people are open these days, but you do not have the right to make everyone else open.

He's got a point. Who's to say Tepp won't get in and 'cleanse' the party of those that didn't vote for him?

Then you got blood on your hands that you'll have to live with for the rest of you life.

I know you get a hard-on for transparancy, but you need to know when it is and isn't appropriate. It's not like this primary even mattered, it essentially does nothing to affect the final results, Kieran didn't even want to win iirc.

Before the primary had even finished Tepp and myself had already decided I would withdraw and I could act as an assistant to him to gain more experience. The primary and the transparency are only on show just now because of all the attempted pto's and most pp's are running on better safe than sorry just now I think. Thanks to the other 3 that voted for me and I wish tepp a successful term and thank Ayame for all the work he's done this term.

I for one am glad the raw data was put out there, if only because I hadn't realised Goku Jones was PCP until I saw his name in the spreadsheet... 😮

I was one of the people that complained/discussed this with ACroc via PM. On balance I think it's better that we have more transaprent elections than ones that could potentially be manipulated by the person running the election. I trust ACroc implicitly, but it doesn't matter if you don't, 'cause you can see exactly who voted for whom on the doc. And if you want to check, ask those who voted. Think of the opposite: how the heck would you check without a check? In RL politics, we rely on paid independent vote-counters who have supervisers and peer-checking; in eRep elections, we have the mods; but in these primaries, there is no guarantor but transparency.
