[MoFA] Alliances: poll results

Day 5,962, 04:33 Published in United Kingdom North Macedonia by Foreign Office

Dear citizens,
a week ago a poll was launched in order to help the Government and the Congress to understand the feeling of the nation about the international situation and the diplomatic position of eUK.

We’re sad to see that only 19 votes have been registered (less votes than actual CM): we can’t consider it a valuable sample but we have decided to analyze and publish the results. Again, if someone who didn’t voted would like to tell us why, it will be appreciated for future purposes.

eUK Alliance Poll
Criteria for alliance consideration,
-shared values
-common goals
-mutual benefits
-will to create more involvement as a community

An alliance will be explored collectively as a country. Please answer to the following questions.

-On a scale of 1 - 10, how positive do you feel generally about the UK current proven neutral and considerate strategy?
(1 very negative to 10 very positive)

6.5

Comment: there is a general satisfaction about how the international affairs of the nation have been managed until now. Votes have, in the most of the cases, shaped between total appreciation and low appreciation, with few votes being in the middle of the scale.
Who gave a low vote is most of all concerned that neutrality, in current days, can’t be enough to defend the interests of eUK in case of attack.

-On a scale of 1 - 10, how positive do you feel generally about the idea of the UK joining an alliance?
(1 very negative to 10 very positive)

5

Once again we had a discrete amount of polarized votes (10 or 1). An explanation can be found in in the previous comment while the other part of the community seems not happy of hear talking of alliances. If the situation has always been good, it is perceived that the current strategy should be continued and improved.

-On a scale of 1 - 10, how positive do you feel generally about the idea that this alliance is based on neutrality and keeping an equal distance from the two biggest sides (Asteria and Code)?
(1 very negative to 10 very positive)

5 (1 abstained)

This time, most of the votes tended to be around 5. People want to have better informations before expressing their opinions on a so important issue. The door is not closed (and not opened) so we hope that our next updates will help clarifying ideas.

-On a scale of 1 - 10, how positive do you feel generally about the idea of joining an already existing neutral alliance (such as Pacifica or Orion)?
(1 very negative to 10 very positive)

4

We had low votes from who considers that the current eUK situation is good, while a bit of distrust from the other voters. The fear of the voters is to become part of an alliance that has few more to add respect the current situation, with some doubts about the real level of activity and coordination of these neutral alliances.

-On a scale of 1 - 10, how do you feel about creating from the beginning a neutral alliance around the values that until here have inspired our nation (and having the control on the process)?
(1 very negative to 10 very positive)

4.7

It would be the most difficult road but, excluding who does not consider alliance an opinion, it is nice to see that people know how this step could be long and difficult. However having full control of the creation process and of the shared values seem very appreciated.

-On a scale of 1 - 10, how do you feel about the potential of joining a non-neutral alliance?
(1 very negative to 10 very positive)

4 (1 abstained)

Nothing to add to the comments already expressed in the previous answers.

-Being it an issue linked to national security, do you think that the discussion about the alliance should be brought on forward by congress only (with the final approval by all the citizens via referendum) or by the whole nation at every stage?
(1: By the Congress - 2: by the nation)

1: By the Congress - 11 votes
2: by the nation - 6 votes
(2 abstained)

Congress should have control of the process and vote about it but almost everyone agrees about keeping the population informed and participant of what is bring on by the Chamber.

-Tell us the values, goals and mutual benefits that an Alliance has to share to be considered as such:
[Describe them]

Less answers than expected here but we can surely mention cooperation, mutual defence, democracy and transparency.
People wants something that could really add some fun to the game and not just being part of something.

Thank you to everyone spent a bit of time to complete the poll and help us and the Congress to take an informed decision about our future diplomatic situation.
Updates will follow as soon something new emerges along the debate.

Have a nice Sunday!
