[Dictatorship] or Why Small Countries Are Under Threat

     Hello, dear reader!

In this article I will share my opinion regarding new changes and possible consequences a country can have after being under dictatorship. Make some tea, coffee, and enjoy.

New political structure has been brought to us by eRepublik. From now on, a dictator can do whatever he wants, meaning he can turn a country either into prosperous place of living or a real hell for state citizens. Of course, talking about "good dictator" (good dictator, yep (= ) is not so interesting. So let's focus on true dictator's way.

Assuming that a country had very good pre-dictatorship status (good taxes, donations done by routine, adequate MPP package, working hard Congress etc.), it will take 8 days 1 day to change Work Tax and all other taxes to create normal currency generator. Owning an organisation means that a leader can basically posses country money as long as he wants (or as long as he can).

We all know about powerful military units in New World. You can check it on every MU page how it succeeded during several Tournaments. Some MUs have proven to make their own way in New World. A good example of how powerful a MU can be is South Africa. Basically this country is nothing else as additional group of regions for allied countries and it is also an additional source of currency. This is a good example of how powerless political system of particular country can be and what it can turn into afterwards.

If a military unit is very mighty and makes around 10% of daily country damage (but belongs to top 20 country) there is almost no way it can organise successful coup against a country. But if it wants to earn some money from weak country, there are options, and chances to make it's own dictatorship there rise considerably. How a military unit can organise a coup in other country? They know how and they're making preparations.

Is there bright future for small countries that are controlled by foreign dictatorship? I doubt it. If a country cannot afford 200.000 currency plus almost same amount of money for Combat Orders to make a revolution, it will stay occupied almost forever. How to make it not happen then?

There are two possible scenarios. First is "wipe yoursef - save yourself" plan. It's not interesting for active players but for weak countries that cannot even control their regions this is least harmful way out. Second scenario is starting "controlled dictatorship" which can avoid foreing intervention.

So as we can see, small countries now will be under thread of being turned into currency generators, turned into "slaves", having almost no options except leaving e-motherland. Players who are still playing for these countries become even more vulnerable after the changes. Will they want to play the game when it doesn't let them earn enough money (200.000 currency is ~1 year treasury for small countries) without in-game purchases?

Of course, if there's a new update coming which can partially solve these issues for small countries its citizens will breathe easier. But curretly citizens of small countries are under extinction.

Thank you for reading. I will be glad to see some comments below with your personal opinion.

     Good luck, dear friends!
