[Derp4PotUS] Tear Down the Old

Day 4,786, 18:46 Published in USA USA by Derphoof

We need change.

When CG decided to run for president, I sat back and said nothing until the last minute. I thought CG would be a real agent for change against the establishment of this country. I thought he might bring in reform that was desperately needed. Maybe, I thought, he might change the ways that the establishment played the game. After all, that’s his schtick.

However, his articles didn’t inspire me, and they lacked detail and policy. I threw my name in, because I was unsure about what I saw. This wasn’t the change we needed, but more of the same with a different face.

Now, again, things must change.

We must change the way we play this game, domestically.

So, I’m here to break down our establishment practices, and build anew. Here’s how:

Firstly, our government brings in approximately $12 Million in tax revenue to the CBO every month, if we donate every day. Congress’ spending for November was $5.4M

Congress is spending approximately 45% of our money. Meanwhile, the rest is hoarded in the CBO. This was a good strategy several years ago, when we needed to hoard money to pay CO’s. Now, it collects dust, as CO’s have been abandoned as a largely ineffective mechanic for the battlefield.

This is why I believe that the government should commit to spending at least 75% of the country’s revenue on programs for its citizens. The majority of taxes should be reinvested in the community. If there is increased activity, then we shouldn’t be afraid to dip into our massive reserves. Our reserves need repurposing. Now, how will we invest that money?

- Increase CRAP by 33% to restore itself back to its earlier funding of $1M

- Raise the cap on GIMP payments to 65k, and increase the amount per hit to 8cc for air corps and 4cc for the elite. By doing both, we can help both big and small air fighters. Air fighters are our most valuable battlefield asset.

- Raise the budget of GIMP in Congress to $2.5M/wk to cover increased payouts and future weeks of heavy use. That will help to get money to citizens faster.

- Double the Fly-By-Prio budget, to better incentivize our Air Fighters. This also directly supports critical battles both for our own nation and our Asterian allies.

Yet, while that helps reinvest money into our community, we need to have more faith in our institutions. We must have better public oversight of our nation’s money.

In order to do this, I would like for CBO to set up a few different spreadsheets. Now, I’m aware that DMJ’s sheets meticulously track every dollar our country spends. However, some people lack trust in the CBO and how money is spent. This is why greater transparency is needed in the CBO. I’m proposing some ways to help citizens track our money.

For the public, I would like a spreadsheet where the CBO numbers and expenditures are listed plainly for all to see. It would list where money was spent, when, and how much is in the CBO Reserve. This would update every month, when the budget is updated, and Congress can choose to redact specific security expenditures. These numbers can be found on the forum in different areas, but could be neatly compiled in one place for the public to see.

For Congress, I would like a live spreadsheet where the CBO numbers and expenditures are listed in real time. If CBO gives money to a program, it's right there. With the updated numbers, Congress can be sure that the people’s money is being tracked, kept, and spent properly.

The President is the one who sets the agenda, and can wield the power of executive programs. They have the power of the bully pulpit to change how things are done in America. Yet, for all of the bluster that has come from the Administration and their talk of fighting the establishment, they have done little to nothing to change the status quo..

The administration provided a trinket Christmas rebate, instead of structural improvement.

They’ve provided trivial conquest in Israel as a “grand success.”

And they’ve done nothing to “tear down” the “walls they have built to divide us,” as CG intended in his first announcement article.

How long will we shift people and parties in power without discernible change? How long will people exploit our divisions, instead of finding solutions.

Let’s tear down the walls that divide us.
Let’s tear down the established ways.

Let’s build up something better.
