The Community of eJapan.

Day 2,711, 13:36 Published in Japan United Kingdom by Coltan Bonobo

As we stand on the brink of another Congress election, I will be standing as an invited member of Shinsengumi Party to represent Silver Chariot. More importantly however, I will represent the people of eJapan. All of them. Whether they come from RL Japan, UK, Serbia, USA or any other place on this planet. You see, I don't care where people come from in RL. This game, and the society you choose to be a part of in this game, is really all that matters in the elections.

As far as this game goes, it's not what it used to be from a community perspective, but eJapan is pretty decent in comparison to some of the other communities. That said, we have got ourselves into a bit of a problem. Somehow this tiny eNation has got all caught up in one of those debates between the ruled and the ruling......you know, the one where some of the community accuse others of "taking over" etc etc. In my experience it doesn't take long for this type of nonsensical debate to turn into one where the line between "game" and RL gets lost. What follows are a whole bunch of silly accusations and poor quality trolling, and after that the sense of community gets stale and boring. Very boring.

I say, let's not let this happen to eJapan. Let's pull together as one community and see if we can work out how to grow this country and have some fun here. We have eSerbia, eUSA, and eROC either on our doorstep or in our living room! Let's work out who can help us, who we can trust and who is just grabbing bonuses. Let's find other eNations who want to join us and have some fun growing back territories......let's look at options like Air Strikes or new alliances. After all, that's the purpose of the game! Competitions and trolling and local stuff is fun.......but growing the nation and taking risks to see how far we can get....that's the real fun!

So if I get into Congress, a part of my work there will be to partner across parties with players who want to have some fun, try some new things, get people involved and see where that takes us. It's a game.....and a pretty boring one at that.....so let's make a plan and try some new things. What's the worse thing that can happen?

A vote for Coltan is a vote against in-game comatose!
