Proposal for more Types of Regimes on Erepublik

Day 1,170, 09:27 Published in Greece Greece by Yiannis and Vasilis balambani

Erepublik lately is becoming boring. There's always a global war every now and then, someone will get upset switch sides and continuing conquering territory to make their virtual empire the greatest but really they are just exchanging regions because invasion dont weaken countries like they do in real life...

All countries regardless of what they try must have the same regime a President and a damn congress.

In real life there are Monarchies, Socialist Republics, Military Juntas, Theocratic states etc... This is what makes the world interesting and this has affected the power, policies and stability of many nations in real life.

Revolutions have been made, regime changes, internal struggle all of which have made countries what they are today. Also certain regimes are more efficient in some aspects, like for example in 'Democracy' the populace is usually happy and enjoys certain limited freedoms but the Government is always divided and indecisive and slow and inefficient.

Would it not be great if we had a larger variety of regimes? In real life they perhaps influenced more than half of the wars and internal upheavals. In erepublik, doing the same thing is getting boring.

Regimes should be implemented in the game with some having powers over the Marker, some having powers over Censorship, some having elections or semi election etc...

My Proposal is that the admins implement three new different types of Regimes into the game:

Despotism -

The Sole Rule of 1 Supreme leader (or Despot) who has seized power by force or by the will of the people. He is the Government and can do whatever he wants unless opposed. He chooses his replacements if he see it fit.

Proposed Benefits: Proposals are made instantly, Censorship is available for the Government, infinite proposals by 'Supreme Leader'.

Proposed Drawbacks: -5% Productivity at work due to Repression, Sole reliance on 1 man.

Anarchy (Partially exists in game) -

No Government interference in the state due to a revolution or no Government being present. People decide for themselves...

Proposed Benefits: None

Proposed Drawbacks: -10% influence in battle, - 10% productivity at work

Party Dictatorship

Rule of 1 Party (all other Parties cannot stand for election) obtained by means of force or by the will of the people. Only Party Leader can decide who is Leader and Party Members can be kicked out by their preference. Congress members are chosen by choice of the Party but are limited down to the number of regions.

Proposed Benefits: Censorship is available for the Government, Proposals require only 12 hours response, control over membership of Party.

Proposed Drawbacks: - 5% in battle and productivity influence to those who are not members of the ruling Party and limited Congress men (1 per region).

Current type of Regime allowed in erepublik:

Parliamentary Democracy

Rule of a Democratically elected leader usually under the representation of the party as well as elected congress men each representing a certain party per region. Anyone who owns a party can bid for power through appealing to the masses.

Benefits: No economic or military drawbacks and representation of the people, can easily remove poor quality leader and replace him

Drawbacks: Slow and inefficient in responding to problems (24 hour proposals), Political factions imminent in Congress, possibility of Political Take over.

How should Regimes change?

Peacefully

If the ruling Government proposes to change the regime democratically it can do so in Congress or alternatively through a referendum to the people. Once do the only way it can return to a democracy is by a revolution or the abdication of the leader in which case elections are held...

It can also be done by force by an individual (Despotism) or a Party President (Party Dictatorship) in which a Revolution takes place where a 48 hour battle for the Capital region begins. Only citizens of the home nation can partake in this battle.

Violently

A revolution is started at the cost of 200 Gold + 1 Gold per citizen in the Capital Region.

If a revolution is done while the regime is undemocratic than it automatically goes to Parliamentary Democracy.

The game would then certainly have a lot more to do than just fighting cyclic wars and creating Empires etc...

It will also make the game much more strategically orientated when facing certain issues...

Do you think this is a Good idea?

Please share your thoughts...
