Peace with Turkey: Case Study

Greek Attitude to Peace Treaty

As most of you will probably know, eGreece signed a peace treaty with Turkey in exchange for 3000 Gold reparations (should be more but whatever), as well as acknowledging Greek dominance over Cyprus and Greek economic needs in eTurkey.

The Turkish President, Aliyporaz no doubt agreed to this in order to join PANAM. Of course looking at the Turkish reaction to this treaty, this has almost certainly guaranteed a future war unless we maintain control and influence over who runs Turkey.

When looking at RL Germany (I have studied it in detail), they too had humiliating peace treaty terms in the Treaty of Versailles and we all know what happened 20 years after the treaty was signed.

International attitude to Peace Treaty

I understand eGreece's need to refill it's coffers and the pressure PANAM has placed on us but how can we trust the Turkish government and how do we know that they wont demand revenge like the majority of their population.

Aliyopraz is now seen as the ultimate traitor and disgrace in Turkey so he will never return to power to ensure the treaty.
Because of this a power vacuum will be open in eTurkey in which most likely INCI, a Turkish organsation that has made a fortune in America will promise to not only regain Turkish land but aspire to Irredentism on Greece and Cyprus.

This treaty was only done looking at the short term gains and not the long term effects. The exact same mistake was done in RL WW1 and the aftermath was Hitler tearing the treaty of Versailles and creating the Third Reich.

In my opinion we were better off not only occupying Turkey, but selling it's land for higher prices to countries like Iran, Romania and Bulgaria. That way, Turkish resistance efforts would have been much more expensive and Greece would have recovered some money.

Turkish attitude to peace treaty

However, as I am an enemy of factionalism and see it as the main factor to downfall and I also understand how PANAM pressurized us to sign this deal so I will continue to support the eGreek Government (unless they do something stupid like the Turkish one)...
