Natster for Congress
Natster
I don't expect a lot of hype for my running, but I do expect that you deserve to know what I stand for.
I am making it official to run for congress, and there are some things that I will lobby for:
1) Higher import Taxes
Why ? Try to make it fair to all Canadian sellers
How much? I will lobby to make the import tax 3%
2) Encourage players to work under the table
Why? This will reduce how much work tax you pay.
3) Re-establish MU Funding
Why? Strengthen our MU's.
The model needs to change though. MU Funding would come through CO's.
This ensures that funding only goes towards battles that the country approves.
4) Encourage openness
24 hours before I make a proposal, I will post it as an article.
For the anal retentive, I will post a link of this article in the forum.
I understand not everyone in ECanada uses our forum, but also don't believe they should have to. There are lots of good players (2 clickers included), who want to interact more, but cannot due to the unnecessary red tape we have in place.
5) NE all occupier
NE = Natural Enemy. This is absolutely essential for the health of Canada. I'm not sure why we haven't NE'd England, especially since they were taking out CO's on us. If I don't NE an occupier, there better be a darn good reason for me not to propose it.
Thank you all for your kind consideration on my bid for congress. Vote IW.

Oh my!
I will touch on 3 of your points.
1. You want players to work under the table to avoid WT. Then they simply don't work. Doesn't matter if you Work as Manager (WaM) or work for someone else you pay some WT. Those (as in my communes) only earn 1 cc per day worked and receive 14 Q7's. Perhaps this is what you mean. However the RM comes from somewhere to produce that stuff and if people are paying workers for making RM they are nuts.
2/ You want to help fund MU's through CO's. Great, but where is the money for the CO's to come from if no one is paying tax? Also, who is going to pay for players to move because we have no MPP's?
3. Foreign Affairs and strategy are important parts of winning a war. We had a NE against UK until they wiped us. Of course now we have Brazil successfully AS'ing them, Portugal has a line of attack through the Azores into NFLD (the last region which UK was forced to take by their NE) and France has NE'd them from the south.
Always good to see the CPF welcoming new people to Congress.
Given the recent mismanagement of funds, ie lacking COs needed from treasury during the Manitoba RW and the overdue LETO membership dues, some active and new ideas to Finance is more than warranted.
Overlooking Dills ability to keep it in his pants until the new Congress is actually elected, I look forward to the much needed new blood you will bring to the table Natster.
What exactly does mismanagement of fund or missing CO's have to do with logic errors in this article? If you want me to say so, I applaud Natster for at least offering something, even if he doesn't fully comprehend the overall landscape. I'm pretty pissed at Congress this month, One of the poorest showings I've ever seen. As far as the CO's, we ran out of money. Hard to really point to anyone on that. It was a group effort but started with the dorks that voted down the no NE proposal thus continuing a war when the UK was willing to stop.
Make sure your new blood realizes that if everyone were able to dodge taxes as he suggest there would be no funds for MPP or allies or CO's to supply MU's. I was trying to be kind and merely point out the error.
I find it fascinating that you are dumping on a new Congressman for wanting lower taxes when it can’t escape you the majority of players use communes and pay their workers the minimum and/or with tanks? What your beef is for someone saying whatever one is your doing is your issue.
Natster is clearly speaking to a commune approach to finance, so of course he’d want financial support for those MU communes. MU funding was around in eCanada for years and was used to build up military infrastructure. From that growth greater financial options, such as more tax revenue is possibly even with a lower tax as you are pulling from a greater pool of funds.
Before you weakly attempt to point out someone’s ‘logic error’, make sure that you understand what they are saying first. For someone that claims to be annoyed at Congress, you aren’t showing any willingness to listen to a different approach.
As for Manitoba RW COs, the eCanada treasury held funds that could have been used towards COs in the in Manitoba RW, but no one bothered to initiate the votes to move the funds over before the RW. It was only discussed at towards the end of the RW and acknowledged that if would be too late to move them in time. We’re in the same “War Machine” thread that the entire discussion was held.
"...you aren’t showing any willingness to listen to a different approach."
I read the article and took the time to respond. I'm still taking the time to respond to Natster. You on the other hand seem to be on some party trip. I don't care to bicker about something that you cannot seem to focus on what's being discussed. Quit playing the wounded IW defender.
Answer to #1
I'm not really trying to avoid work tax. I'm trying to lower our costs of production. This is based on average wage. If Average Wage is $30, and work tax is 5%, than WAM generation costs 1.50. So, the lower the average wage, the better it is for managers, and we can offset some tax loss with a higher WAM right. This will get our RM's down. RM's have to be generated by self to be worth while. LOWER AVERAGE WAGE is best for all.
2) Again, see above, the government can actually make more money than it is. Min Wage can be set, and Tax Rate set accordingly. This is a balancing act, but can be done. The government would never be revenue less. The more money in players pockets, the more they are able to spend, the more money they spend, the more that goes into coffers.
3) I'm not responding to this.
"Encourage players to work under the table"
If you are not trying to avoid work tax then what did you say that for? If you meant you seek to lower the average wage then you should have said what you're saying now. Lower the wage by communing. It is the most efficient way to supply the MU's you want to help. Encourage weapons commune use in MU's and Soldiers self supply of food. I've pushed this since the econ changed 3 1/2 years ago. WT will always pull about the same revenue as it does now because no one in their right mind will have employees producing RM, just as you say.
Min wage should not be tampered with, that has been done elsewhere with disastrous results. Almost every country has min wage set at 1 cc or lower.
FWIW, as an aspiring Congressman, you should be concerned with the budgeting of CO's amid other important stuff, and be knowledgeable in what is going on in Canada. To do otherwise is only to add to the crap hole mentality there. Foxfire seems to think I don't care about you and that I want to knock you down a peg. He concerns himself with party posturing and dogma. I concern myself with taking care of business and helping you understand what's going on. You must decide who to listen to. I'm not going to insist I'm always right and that you should only listen to me. What I will do is ask that you use your own reasoning when investigating matters and develop your own opinion based on fact, not what someone told you to think. Just don't expect me to spoon feed you and pat your head either. I don't want a congress full of trained monkeys.
Dills own personal arrogance clearly doesn't allow himself to see his own heavy handed brow beating and self righteousness. His way is the only way in Congress and one of the biggest turn offs to people participating. I enjoyed the farce that Dill isn't going to insist his always right, but spends a thousand words "explain" (because the rest of us just aren't as smart as him, so pull up a tiny chair and learn from his vast wisdom) why you're wrong. He's also confusing 'party posturing and dogma' with the personal disgust I have to players bullying other players just to further their own agenda,.
Dill is the perfect example of a monkey throwing it's own feces to scare you away from his cage, because he decides who comes in to his congress. He can't back up his position, so he'll sling mud until his arm falls off.
See you in Congress and expect a lot more of the same. o7
Strength and honour. o7
Some interesting subjects to discuss for sure. I can't say I agree with all your points, but some active and vocal members are needed to refresh Congress.
Best of luck!
PS Remember to re-apply for Congress as you may have been kicked out from our wipe
I don't expect you to agree, but can you pick one, and give reasonings. I believe a discussion should be had rather than well, I don't agree with all your points. (Plus, it could spark an article or two 😛)
For sure man. Lets go with MU funding. We used to do it, and it was a good way of Canada giving back to our soldiers, but we have since moved away from giving active people a % of money. (its kind of like hey we will take your money here through taxes, and now return it back through funding. Why not just lower taxes, generate less revenue, but in turn make weapons cheaper) I think the best approach is to offer our younger players loans to help them acquire training grounds to help build their strength up early. This is a solid long term investment. There is the potential to try and fund infrastructure within MUs, but to be self sufficient requires huge capital investment, and usually into one or two people. If that person decides to quit or move somewhere, a large chunk of tax dollars could be wasted.
