It's difficult to give you advice on a game that has such a large variety of elements.
I do like to give you one piece of advice*
* Don't get into politics until you know exactly how it all fits together and/or until you find a point of view that seems to work the best for you(not for anyone else but your own point of view). It is best to take that approach or you might end up being used for other peoples agenda.
