Well it seems it’s true, watching paint dry is more exciting.
Although it enables me to write this article while still in battle.
Why in this day and age do programmers think this is acceptable, I used to play games that were more involved and interesting on my commodore 64 !!!
It’s just sad that this is what has taken so long to develop, 8 year old kids could create something more fun.
Also the only time I got a simple battle in I lost 80 health and had to buy wellness back as you don’t know how much you’re going to lose. At least with the old setup you knew what you were prepared to do and could manage that without spending gold.
I, along with many others, was pretty excited to experience the new battle module but now I can’t understand how the average citizen who plays this game ‘FOR FREE’ can actually fight without losing all their hard earned savings.
This is obviously the work of an economist with no sense of reality as this game will drastically lose numbers if this system doesn’t get overhauled. The way to entice people to an idea is to make something new, fun, excitable and free.
If beta means what it did in the 80’s (pronounced bayta) then it’s a system that was dropped because it wasn’t any good meaning they have spent no money on upgrading this platform. (Please inform me and others in the comments below if this is not the case)
eRepublik made nearly 3 million euro’s last financial year but it seems no money was actually spent on making this game ‘modern, new or improved’.
It just seems that their betting on the paying customer to hang around and fill their pockets with no respect to their claim of a ‘FREE GAME’.
Anyway sorry for the whinge & lack of graphics as I’m sure I will be proven wrong (HOPEFULLY)
Please feel free to leave a comment (and vote and sub) as everyone has the right to know what their in for and hopefully some eRepublikans out their might have some inside knowledge on how this could be a fast and economical format.
P.S. It just timed out on me so I had to log in again, hopefully that doesn’t nullify my battle progress or anyone else’s.

Beta was a good testing ground for seeing what battle was like... pity i saw very few people there. Fighting someone and gauging there damage is easy from the fight screen. Once u have selected a target, it moves to another screen where u can select again another target. His damage and your damage will be displayed.in Beta was lopsided, probably is in this too, but with the numbers provided, you can judges what your damage will roughly be

The new battle system requires a sense of teamwork. Honestly I can say that the new way of fighting is more fun than the old one as it actually requires you to think and guage battles, instead of mindlessly clicking to get exp.

Health pack price should (MUST) be decreased to 0,1 gold/pack.

You do not have to buy wellness packs you dumdums.
Your health will be refilled to 70health for free automaticly after the end of the day if you figthed in the battle.

Hey this is wy more fun. The turns may be long but that gives you a chance to scout weak points. They actually should make war chats to let people coordinate attacks. All in all, this is better. It makes you think.
What daniecox sai😛 "too boring. too expensive. too slow." They need to at least shorten the turns down to a minute, it's so dull to just sit there and wait for people to move. @Dean Kong I was just on the battlefield, and saw no teamwork; maybe if they displayed player names and had a chat system there but right now it's pretty mindless unless you count hiding on the same tile as a tank for protection.
PEOPLE - READ THIS.
I ticketed the admins, and they say the booster's (and maybe healthpack's too) cost of gold will be adjusted to the economy automatically so everybody can afford them.
It's just that in the beta, everybody started with 99 GOLD - which affected the economy and made the boosters expensive.
Besides, how the hell is the new millitiary module more boring than the last one? Last one - you click a button 4 times, and that's it. So yes, the new module isn't Counter Strike, but remember - it's still a browser game. They made the millitiary module a little more interesting and takes a little more time to play - and that's really all that can be done, if this is going to stay a text-based browser game. Which is excellent.

The new war module actualy reminds me of an old Amiga game called "North v's South " in the way that the stratergy is formulated but , it is lacking in the "FUN " aspect , the graphical aspect , the codeing aspect ..... Hell near all aspects !
It definatly seems to be based around how much money that the propieter's can sponge out of everyone's pockets . E60= $84.65AUD. Makes one consider being of Economic/Political nature instead of being a soldier ! As a nOOb I didn't mind spending some of my "Bread " to play before but is becoming a little too much of a "hole in the pocket " now ! FRUSTRATION {:?(

The reason why I had teamwork for my beta battles is cause a bunch of us sat on IRC co-ordinating, such as whoever had an artillery unit going after copters, using a tank to stop other tanks and mass infantry rushes, it made the war system fun.

my problem is the system is spose to be somewhat like a rock paper scissors system, however, you get to pick which unit in a stack you attack, so theres no point in stacking in 4's with everyone picking a deferent unit, that attacking force simply hits what they're best at killing...
Same with stacking up with a bigger player... your oponent can simply beat crap out of the little player while you watch helplessly...
And Hospitals... what a freekin joke...
it's also funny seeing everyone hiding in 1 little corner while the other team owns 90% of the map, need to learn how to play the game.
This set up takes too much gold. If the game is gonna require more gold to play then give us more ways to earn gold FOR FREE. Or this game will loose a LOT of players.
@democidist i never ONCE saw you on the beta battlefield, perhaps that is why you saw no teamwork. If you click on the tile and click on "MORE INFO" surprise, surprise, you get the information of the players on that tile. Dean and I had some very memorable and team work building battles in beta, maybe if you opened your eyes and thought about some "tactics" in this game you may get somewhere. For those of you who say it takes too long?? go and do what u would normally do whilst waiting for your 2 minutes to be up. There is MORE to this game that just war you know... there's that whole economic side of the game .....

I must say for all this "upgrading" we got a very nicely polished turd. I like the graphical style of it all. But the game itself leaves much to be desired. Personally, I don't care much for war. I always went into the Wellness related products. And I do like the new Happiness system. But getting rid of Gifts really ruined it for me. If you loose a lot of Wellness, it's not easy to get back up into the 90s. And wow, is it easy to get knocked down in Wellness. It seems that unless your a Methusala player with a Q5 weapon in your hands, you're lucky if you can fight two times before dieing. Death happens way too much! And that's the biggest turn off for me.
I love the new fighting system.
FINALLY there's some STRATEGY AND TACTICS involved. Yes, it may be basic, but it's is certainly better than a mere click of a button to attack a WALL. In the new module you're ACTUALLY FIGHTING BATTLES, and therefore there's a lot more going on. There can be several mini-fronts, or one large one, cities act as strong points to be an attack base of a defense node. There are so many more possibilities in V2.
Additionally, you can actually SEE how many of your allies are actually fighting on the battlefield and how many of your own country's soldiers are stepping up to the plate. At least we can SEE why Australia's losing at Western Australia: We're so badly outnumbered it isn't funny.

I also have to agree with that opinion and thinking about quitting. Previous version was more simple and best feature was that you could play free and it didn't took too much time to play it. Very dissapointed.

takes too long. I spent 20 minutes winning 4 fights yesterday to make Colonel... and 1.5 Gold. Teamwork is impossible since you cannot tell where your 'allies' are going to move ahead of time to you might see 10 people in range of the guy you are about to attack, but you could still end up on your own and hosed.

Oh yes, of course I know what I can say.
All I need to produce 3 more tanks is tank barrels. I produced 3 yesterday, and I still have no tanks.
GOD (admin) has stolen enough of my money, and GOD never returns it.
It is terrible!!!! I used to log on, fight for a few minutes - it was quick, easy and you knew how it worked. This is confusing and slow and this Field Marshall is going to hang up his boots until it gets sorted.
