In Tamir's case, his toy gun never had the orange safety feature marking it as a toy gun.

Meanwhile in the white boy's case, he had already been talked into putting the gun down by a social studies teacher before police arrived on the scene, there was no reason to shoot him.

Just a thought: Might not have been racial motivations that caused the difference?
