Creating a Positive Political Atmosphere

Day 1,742, 22:45 Published in Canada USA by Derphoof

In the midst of the political divide and debate at the moment, while people bash each other let me tell you why I respect and admire Clan Wolf.

Clan Wolf, was started as a safe haven for two-clickers who wanted some political involvement. People quickly dismissed them. Two clickers seem to be belittled by many players who spend a lot of time in the game. Many politicians saw them as merely as tax base to collect revenue from. For the reason that it was a party meant for “two-clickers”, they were originally titled AFK, quite ironic for the current party today. They are no longer Two-Clickers. They are a powerful group and voting bloc. Tyrael was able to give voice to their cause by giving them a party and an outlet. I admire their resolve, and ideals. I admire the fact that they stick to their guns no matter who questions their ideals or trolls them. It is a refuge for those who have been PTO’d. A party for those who want to move things in game to be more accessible. In Congress, they are a civilized people who resist the urge to troll and shout (Its sooooo enticing). Instead of making pointless inflammatory statements, they articulately defend their position and try to be the better person. They stand to be a voice of reason in a country where trolls can be prominent.

Although certain members have been trashing CPF as of late, the listed reasons are why I both like and respect the party as a whole. Is this to say they shouldn’t be criticized? Well no, they aren’t flawless. No one person or party is perfect. Should they be respected? Of course! It is a party that stands for something. They have goals and they contribute to the benefit of our country. The actions of the few does not reflect the mindset of the whole.

Having said this, the political environment as of late has quickly turned sour. For the benefit of this country, people just need to get along. Is the immense drama entertaining? Yes. It has glued me to my computer screen for the past couple days. It can also create discourse and constructive criticism. However, we cannot be divided and wish to succeed. We cannot sit idly by as the powers that be consider fighting other parties to be the best option.

We have three major parties. CPF, Clan Wolf and the Norsefire-MDP Coalition (I just lump them as one party). No party will really be able to have a true majority in this system. When you have three parties with different ideas claiming that their idea is the best and don’t give any ground, you open the door to immense gridlock. Instead we need to break ourselves of the infighting and power struggles. We need to find new ideas. Compromise. Cooperation. Levelheadedness. These are words and ideas that are not thrown around Canada very often. Its not a popular idea and its not the easiest idea. However it is what we need. We cannot have people going around and trashing other parties. We cannot have a political environment conducive to trolling and other ill-advised activities.

Now this doesn’t go for just CPF, Clan Wolf, or the Coalition. It needs to apply to everyone who wants their voice heard in politics. Does this mean we have to be buddies and support every little thing? No. There will obviously be opposition on every side to varying proposals. My hope is that people will look past their own egos and disdain for others and find the common ground. Find the middle ground upon which Canada can be successful. I hope each party can commit to trying to find some kind of peace with each other. Does that mean the middle ground and compromise is the perfect way? No. But it is better than doing nothing. It is better than attacking each other. Instead of sitting behind your barriers of ideas and fortresses of ego, come out from the shelter of your party and engage the others in a positive way. That is my message to Canada and its parties.

Instead of sitting behind your barriers of ideas and fortresses of ego, come out from the shelter of your party and engage the others in a positive way. Find cooperation. Find compromise. Find progress.
