An attemp of analysing the eNorwegian politics!

Day 2,744, 12:36 Published in Norway Norway by Zinitus

Here are the results from eNorwegian congress-elections for may 2015. This month it become, all together, 17 new congress-members (Cm`s) from all parties, 6 less than April. The turnout raise a little towards last election, from 35 to 39 (29,5 % measured against the number of active Citizens).

Norwegian Green Party(NGP):
16 votes(+5)/ Support 41,03 % (+9,60 😵 / get 6 Cm`s of 17

Teknokratene(TeK):
14 votes(---)/ Support 35,90 % (- 4,10 😵/ get 6 Cm`s of 17

Partiet(P):
5 votes (---)/ Support 12,82 % (- 1,47 😵/ get 3 Cm`s of 17

Liber8 (L😎:
2 votes (---)/ Support 5,13% (- 0,58 😵/ get 1 Cm`s of 17

Norwegian Economic Cooperative (NEC):
2 votes (-1)/ Support 5,13% (- 3,44😵/ get 1 Cm`s of 17

An attempt of analysing the election:
First of all: We still today see a huge and strengthened majority for the “Green-TeK coalition”. NL have been in contact with both PPresidents and they both confirm they will continue their coalition, at least for now. They do have a strong support in the population, achieving 77% of the votes (up 5,5 😵.

I considered three exciting elements before this election: The first was to see how the voters would welcome the new PPresidents for both of the two large parties (KristofferAG from “TeK” and Kesha Winehouse from NGP). This election shows us both of them well received by the voters, with “The Greens” a step ahead the “Tek`s. ” The NGP has now become the senior-partner and TeK the junior-partner in the coalition.

The next exciting element was if one of the two big coalition parties could gain pure majority by themselves. In strategies to get governmental power, the congress elections do not have any sense by it selves. It`s still the CP elections who counts (and if we, in our minds, pretend no dictatorship for a moment). Anyway, a congress-election gives us an indication on what`s to come. Now, either NGP or TeK get the majority in this election, and both of them still have to cooperate with the other party. NGP has already proposed Joshua Morriseau as CP-candidate on june 5th. And TeK confirm they will support him in the next CP-election.

By the way! I would like to do an experiment of tought:
If one of the two big parties, sometime in the future, get the pure majority in congress, it would be interesting after the subsequent CP-election, to see either a pure “Green take over” or a pure “TeK take-over” in Government (or other parties as well, even that not seems likely, by now, in the current political landscape). At least I think it would be inspiring to all, to do that sort off attempt. But that`s only an experimental thinking!

The third exciting element was: Would we see anything at all, of the minor opposition parties (NEC and L😎 in the new congress? During this election it was a long uncertainty whether L8 would gain a seat in the congress or not. They did, at last, but both, L8 and NEC, now have become “one man parties” and they have to try some new strategies, in the attempt to get out of their wandering in the wilderness. NEC PPresident John Guerreiro admit his party do “need fresh blood”.

We have collected some of the comments from the party presidents:

The winner of the election Kesha Winhouse (NGP) seems to enjoy the results:

“I'm very happy that the NGP was able to get a majority of the votes so we could have all candidates from our party elected. With the new government, it appears at least for now, that we will have support from TeK this election. There may be a few changes and some projects in the work, but overall we like the diversity of a multi-party government.”

KristofferAG (Teknokratene) is not SO happy:

“As the biggest party in Norway, it's never fun to be out-done during Congressional Elections. 9 of our members didn't vote, but I believe that we could've bolstered the amount of voters had we put more of a spotlight on the elections, maybe through a newspaper article. Still, we got the same amount of votes as we did last election, and all of our candidates got a seat in Congress, and in spite of us not getting the most votes, we still have an equal representation to that of NGP!”

John Guerreiro (Norwegian Economic Cooperative NEC) expresses sadness over the very low turnout:

“This election proves that Norwegian community doesn't trust to much about policy matters and there are only 1/3 of voters about the whole country. And that disapoint me.”

We tried to get some comments from “Partiet” and “Liber8”, but they were not available for comment.
