All Against Racism

Day 3,774, 08:34 Published in Armenia Armenia by ChievoKevin

We live in a world of prejudice.Prejudice takes many forms, among them, racial, ethnicreligious, gender etc.
The United Nations Organization has decided on an international day to combat racial discrimination which is March 21!

And at the initiative of the Brazilian Government, specifically the Brazilian Defense Minister Web Carioca, several countries of eRepublik, with the approval of Plato have decided to join the movement and publish articles condemning this practice and urging all countries to ban those who practice acts of this nature

I myself am a person of different worlds; I’m an Armenian, born in Turkey, and living in Lebanon. As such I have been both in a ethnic and religious minority.

I have experienced the prejudice, both ethnic and religious; on the other hand, I have also have experienced the love and respect of the others. I have decided to ignore the first kind, and cherish the second all my life.

Prejudice is based on the concept of “different” ; whether different colour of skin, where one was born, or what religion one follows; as if any of those mattered with regards the capabilities of the person.

eRepublik being a microcosm of real life, may players have carried their baggage of prejudice into the game. Players forget that this is a game, and carry their hatred into their battles.

In reality, think about it: can you not take the opportunity of building bridges with the “other” ? Can you not think of the opportunity to show the “other” your world view and larn his or her world view?

If you did this, you might discover that the “other” is after all, not very different than you.
This happened to me, when I discovered that someone I was ready to ignore was in fact a person I would be be proud of calling my brother.

So my call to all players : make the world better by being better yourself. Ignore prejudice in all its forms, and embrace the “other”
