ADP - Aussie round up

G'day Aussies,

Well we thought at the Australian Democratic Party we would begin a weekly round up of what is happening in Australia, mainly so you new and young players have a better understanding of how this place works...also so you can see what is going on in your eCountry.

Well in the past week we finally had senate elections and we were able to operate more as a nation rather, the senate elections on the 25th can be found HERE and they are held on the 25th of each month. You can join the candidate list for senate after the 16th of each month and the President of your political party will lock the list on the 24th and arrange the order of candidates that he thinks will benefit Australia and their party. Only the top five parties can run candidates for senate but If you are in a political party outside the top five then if you contact us we will discuss running you under our banner, and once the election results are announced you can return to your party.

Also you may have seen that we have a region in Jizan, Saudi Arabia. But we have no home regions in our continent sadly that I can imagine is a little confusing to one or two of you, well that is because we faced an invasion by three nations from the same alliance. As they are all bigger and stronger than Australia we managed to fight a path out and arranged to rent a region in Saudi Arabia so we can get a senate/congress - eRepublik doesn't allow you a senate if you are wiped off the map and it can be very difficult to survive without a senate so our Jizan base is vital to our survival.

Senate and your President have also been busy accepting MPP's - Mutual Protection Pacts, and these are vital to helping you on the battlefield, and without them you would literally have to move to your chosen battle and that can prove very costly for a community. In the last few days we have renewed our MPP's with Greece, Romania, Taiwan and Serbia.

We recently faced down another unsuccessful attempt at a resistance war funded by our foes aimed at our Jizan region but sadly we again were not strong enough to stop Indonesia from taking Western Australia again. Although our original regions are occupied that does not mean we aren't doing what we can to liberate them, however having three nations as closely working together means if we vanquish one foe then one of the other two will step up and take the regions we liberate. Hence why we haven't broke the bank trying to remove one nation...patience and planning is the key nut for now remember that Jizan is our number one priority.



Senate also is in the process of moving funds from the treasury to the reserve bank of Australia. Without a senate any monies or gold in the treasury remains locked there, so if you needed it for other reasons you were in trouble. Thankfully now senate has issued money (selling our gold in the treasury that was laying there mainly unusable) and is now in the process of transferring it to the reserve bank where our Government can now make use of it. Gold locked in the treasury can only be used to help partially fund Airstrikes (attacks on nations anywhere in the eWorld) and for 'declaring war'...Declaring War is a more costly equivalent to a natural enemy proposal, a Natural Enemy proposal is where you can propose and begin a war against a nation you share a border with for no cost.

This is short but sweet but we at the Australian Democratic Party hope it clears a few things up. There are many ways you can get more involved and help Australia and the Australian community so if you have the time and desire then consider offering your time to your Government in a junior role...a valuable learning curve for those who view a future position as a Government Minister.
