As eRepublik Turns

Let's take a look at what our allies are up to in today's edition of:

As Erepublik Turns

Last time we visited South America, things were fairly heated. Today we see that Columbia is wiping Venezuela for good measure. It appears Venezuela was able to secure Congress, but I'm not sure if that was a kind gesture on Columbia's part or not. Never-the-less, SA is pretty quiet.

When we turn our gaze toward Europe, we see that the US is kicking Spain all over the place. The US has won eight battles and is poised to take control in Madrid during the prime-time. Spain has managed to run effectively using France as a patsy. Remember France, it only counts as helping if you win. However, we do appreciate you opening another front to drain some influence. We have a longer road ahead to finish this job than I'm guessing anyone foresaw. I do hope the next US PotUS has the foresight and influence, politically, to see this through. France is now fighting with the UK. I do hope that the US and her allies are discussing plans to open some more effective fronts in this campaign. I do enjoy seeing Spain wiped.

Slovenia pulls more than their fair share of weight in erepublik. We see them fighting it out on multiple fronts on numerous occasions. I've never had the pleasure of getting to know anyone from Slovenia, but I really admire their heart in this game. For instance, they are perpetually fighting Italy and winning. It's back and forth right now, with Slovenia about to secure a victory. We shall see if they can get and keep the upper hand in the war. God Bless Slovenia.

Brazil has secured a battle against The Republic of Macedonia and are currently winning big. Enjoy your little slice brethren.

In other news, Latvia and Estonia, blah, blah, blah...something, something. Enjoy the endless war, ya'll.

Stay classy, and keep shakin that ASS, eMurica!

Madness Week
Mama Lunete

We may or may not be writing poetry here, but in most artistic pursuits, a little bit of madness definitely helps no matter the situation. Like that guy up there in the picture. He knows what's up.

In any case we had a number of people write articles for the WHPR Madness Week, namely:

Franklin Stone

Dio Soryu

Gnilraps

We also had a couple of no-shows who failed to turn in their article, I consider them sorta like this image:

So thank you for submitting your articles, and also a thank you to everyone who read and/or voted them up, we love you!

Congressional Update
EdgarFigaro

Ever since the tax hike last month, one which raised taxes to their current rate of 15%, various discussions have taken place between parties supporting a lower tax rate, the most recent discussion being that of a 12% rate. Bob Boudahili began discussion citing that many of the reasons for the initial rise in rate did not end up taking place. Many supporters came to his aid commenting that this decision would put many manufacturers back to work. The bill was put to a vote and was shot down 16/19 with two congress members abstaining.

Another topic was brought up over the past week by Dmjohnston regarding Beach Bunny’s status within the IES staff. Johnston argued that Beach Bunny’s actions within the IES went against the majority of Congress’s beliefs on how immigration should be handled and called for her removal from IES. Many countered that as long as the Director of the IES team, Deepchill, believed her work was up to the standards held by the immigration team, there was no reason for her removal. Days later the bill was put to a vote and was disapproved at a vote of 18/18 with three members abstaining.

In more other news, Yui MHCP001 has recently instigated discussion with complaints regarding the effectiveness of the Speaker of the House team (by splitting Senryaku's post from a different thread) for the past congressional term, mainly citing the failure to begin budget discussions and abuse of congressional guidelines. Discussion is still continuing and can be found below.

Congressional Elections
Elanaconda

Since a long time the citizens of eUSA had and option of the same 5 parties when the Congressional Elections came up:

Federalist Party
United Stated Workers Party
We The People
American Military Party
The Black Sheep Party

Beginning of this month a new party entered the top 5, requirement to take part in the elections. The new party for this month is Socialist Freedom Party, they took the spot from The Black Sheep Party who came up short to stay in the top 5.

The Socialist party entered their first elections with a bang! They ended up gathering the most votes, earing them 16 seats in this months Congress.
