[TB4CP] A Seat at the Table

Two days ago I was asked on the SFP Forums who would be in my Cabinet. Now normally there is a certain rhythm and order to a CP campaign. You titillate, tease, and hint about your team. Sometimes you publish an article revealing and discussing your Vice President pick first. I know I have done it in the past. So when I was asked who would be in my Cabinet I hesitated for a moment. I considered giving a wait and see type of answer. However, then I realized something. I am running on a platform of giving every major Party in our nation a seat at the table. I also know from experience that picking players to be in your Cabinet for purely political reasons rarely works out. So I revealed all of my confirmed picks to serve in a July 2015 Bubblar administration.

Traditionally this has been one of my least favorite campaign articles to write. Not because I wasn’t proud of the team I assembled, or because I couldn’t tout the qualities of the individuals who had agreed to serve the nation with me. I disliked this article because finding, editing, and formatting current Avatars for my team has always been a gargantuan pain in my ass. I have never been able to just take the avatar straight from the game, and the forums avatars are at times a bit out dated. (Full disclosure most of these avatars are from the forums) Not this time around, this campaign my excitement for this team outweighs my frustrations with my limitations.

While I will never be universally regarded for my graphic and formatting skills, I have managed to increase them to the point that it no longer looks like a brain damaged primate did the work. So that is a positive. In addition to this I have assembled a team that was built with the good of the nation in mind. I have tapped players of talent, quality, and skill from the top 6 Parties knowing that when the dust settles some of these groups just won’t vote for me. I feel strongly this approach will do two things. It will prepare and prime fresh players for CP runs of their own and give each Party that currently has Senators in Congress a stake in the Executive. That said let’s get to the Cabinet.






Vice President


Wild Owl is one of my oldest friends in this game. His accomplishments are many and fairly well known. He is a 5 time CP himself and is one of our most influential people in terms of forig affairs. All of that is great, but what really mattered to me is the history he and I have. We have worked together for the better part of two years. I have served in his Cabinets during his Presidency terms, and he has served in mine. I trust him completely. He did not ask for this post, but I felt it only right that he be my Vice President.

Chief of Staff


MrCarey is one of the fresh faces in a key place that I am excited about. He stepped into a mess in the Education Department for me in September of 2014. He worked miracles in getting that Department humming along smoothly. He has been a Party President for WTP, and after recently returning from a hiatus has graciously agreed to take on the role of Chief of Staff. It is my frank hope that he excel in this role to the point that if he wishes to do so in the near future, he can use this experience to springboard a CP run of his own.

Secretary of State


I have not yet had the privilege of working closely with eShades. However, he has come highly recommended from several people whose opinions I greatly value. In addition to this he has been a bright spot as an untitled but diligent worker in the current administration. Selfless, and hardworking are two very excellent adjectives to be attached to. It is also my hope that this fresh face (to the national scene) can prove himself and in doing so cement his status as a CP contender in the near future.

NSC Chair


Henry William French and I go back to my first term as Secretary of Homeland Security under NewAz in November 2013. The month prior was the first time in a long struggle in which the PTO AFA failed to get Congress seats. My job was to make sure they did not get back up. I had two solid ATO candidates to choose from in taking the AFA that month: DiscoMusolini or French. Both were decently positioned on the ballot, but French told me he did not just want to take the AFA from Ajay and babysit for 30 days. He wanted to build a Party from the ground up. I selected Henry French to be my ATO candidate. 10 days into the term the AFA was seized and the Black Sheep Party was born. I will forever be impressed with what he and the other Black Sheep have built. This will be Henry French’s first ever Secretary level appointment. French will not take a post offer just because it is offered he must agree with the mission of an administration before he will sign off on joining. I am honored to have him aboard.

Secretary of Defense


Garmr cracks me up. He is not a political animal. He will tell you what he thinks and why usually in a very amusing, blunt manner. I admire direct honesty. However, he is also a hard worker. He has put a great deal of work in USAF, NSC and the DoD over the years, and I am pleased to work with him in forging closer bonds between Defense and the NSC over the next month.

Secretary of Media


It has already been made known that eNPR will be returning with Derphoof hosting. However, Derpy has also graciously agreed to be Secretary of Media and entertain/inform the citizens of the eUSA all things news and entertainment worthy. I have known him since his Fed days and he is a Propaganda extraordinaire! I look forward to reading the masterpieces he will be publishing for us and of course his sultry pony voice on eNPR!

Interior/Education


A Fed player of some renown who is no longer with us (fingerguns) once said every Party/Nation needs the right mix of technicians and propagandists. If it becomes unbalanced one way or the other things begin to break down. If there are not enough technicians to do the work of running the Party/Nation all the propaganda in the world cannot compensate for the lack of substance. If there are not enough propagandists to get the members of the Party/Country engaged, excited, and enthused the work of the technicians will be all for naught. On occasion, she went on to say, a rare individual will arrive on the scene that has the talent, time , and energy to be both a technician and a propagandist. Those are worth their weight in digital gold. I have assembled a team of four players of some renown or infamy depending on your point of view that are some of the greatest propagandists we have in the game. Some of them might even be those rarest of individuals who are both. Please allow me to introduce you to this squad of Domestic Dynamos.

Wooky Jack, Aramec, Nick Bergman, and last but not least Tom Cauchon will be heading up what I believe will be a very aggressive, very passionate, and very entertaining rehaul of all things domestic. Wooky and Aramec will be the titular Secretaries of Education and Interior respectively, but these two departments and 4 individuals will work as a team. As part of this effort we will be exploring potentially merging these Departments as they have such a common purpose in helping and teaching new players. Prepare yourself eAmerica things are about to get done!


Homeland Security


Jefferson Locke might just be my favorite Fed. He was on hiatus when I returned to the game and joined the Federalist Party, however, his fingerprints were all over things. His activity and enthusiasm were on display for all to see. When he returned a few months later I was thrilled to get to know him. We have been fast friends both in game and out ever since. He has a long history in ATO. Homeland Security is not the workload it once was, but having a player with experience in this spot to step in in the event of domestic political shenanigans or help allies with ATO missions of their own is a big plus.




There you have it a seat at the table for every Party currently represented in Congress. The idea is for every major group to have a stake in the running of the Executive branch. Making it possible for everyone to take ownership in this eNation of ours. It’s proven that when an individual or group have ownership of something it drives them to take better care of that something as they take pride in it being theirs. A great example of that is homeownership versus renting. You can almost always tell when the occupants of a home own it or rent it. My grandfather owns rentals and virtually every time tenants move out the place has taken a beating. The people who lived there did not have a permanent attachment or a stake in keeping their dwelling up. They knew they were in essence just passing through and that someone else would be doing the heavy lifting of cleaning and repairing the mark of their time living in the home. At best they were indifferent. At worst they were actively destructive.

I think you can see what I am trying to say in regards to the eUSA. The more Parties and individuals who feel they have a say, stake, seat at the table, and ownership in directing the affairs, laws, and direction of the eUSA the better it is for the community and the nation. As I have said previously I do not have a silver bullet or magical panacea to fix the breaches in our community. I do however believe that this approach can help us to begin working together more cohesively.
