[SOP] Socialist Oppression Party?
Kemal Ergenekon
> Fails to repeal the dictator law in the congress with a majority.
> Starts a rogue civil war to remove the dictator against the will of the majority.
> Tries to choke down a minority view on the remaining majority of the players by military force.
Socialist Freedom Party? Sounds more like Socialist Oppression Party.
But do not despair esteemed and loyal citizens of eUS! The Inquisition will save the day, and repel these tyrants and restore peace and order.
Protip: You cannot call others "elitists" when you try to ram your minority view down the throats of others.

Gnil just wanted the medal of freeing a dictatorship.
There's a medal for that, right?
I'm assuming there's a medal for that.
Just for reference, there is indeed a medal for that, but it would not go to Gnil. It would go to Phoenix Quinn who currently commands Bear Calvary and pressed the button to start the revolution.
There goes my theory 🙁
"Against the will of the majority..." of a tiny cabal of off-game oligarchs.
While fulfilling the will of the in-game electorate.
And can we chat about those mixed metaphors, bro? I mean, referring to the SFP as "oppressors" (as if! ) and then immediately promising to bring on a tortuous Inquisition. This reminds me of some former "criticism" of the SFP for not being social-fascist _enough_ in its "socialism".
Really, though, citizens take note here. I do expect the fine leaders of the Inquisition will follow up with their threats to destroy the voice of opposition by any means necessary. So thanks for making that so clear. I will go ahead and burn my "eusaforums" membership card now. Oh wait. I don't have one.
Hey Phoenix Quinn.
In eUnited States, the democracy works just as it does in the rest of eRepublik in the absence of a dictator.
Namely, top 5 parties nominate potential congressmen, and people vote for parties. A crappy system if you ask me compared to the individual elections at the state level that we had back in the day, but it is what it is. This is the democracy that you have in the absence of a dictator.
The anti-dictator camp failed to repeal the dictator law with a simple majority in the congress. You cannot join a democratic political process, lose a vote, and then go ahead and call that vote null and void and do whatever you think is the best.
You did not even *attempt* a democratic referendum by the votes of all eUS citizens. If I were in your position, that would have been the first thing I would have tried. But no, you the elite of the SFP *know* what is right for the people. So you must choke it down our throats.
I think you need a thorough education on what democracy is. You might be the voice of the majority in your dreams, but in reality, you are just RPing a majority leader of imaginary citizens.
I'm not saying that Gnilraps' victory was by any substantial margin or can really be considered a true majority of the people, but his entire platform hinged on this one issue and the election was, in this way, a direct democratic referendum by votes of all eUS citizens. It was very nearly a tie, however, SFP ended with the slightest of majorities. It's blatantly dishonest to say that this is a minority opinion or an unpopular one, as is evidenced by Gnilraps' victory. Again, I'm not saying that it's necessarily a majority opinion, but it's just as supported as the opposing stance.
@Stan Brown
Gnilraps did promise not to start a liberation war, fund it, or fight for it in case the current defensive dictatorship law in the congress was not repealed. Thus, people trusted him to respect the authority of the congress. You cannot tell me all the votes for Gnilraps were necessarily votes against defensive dictatorship. He promised - as he should - that he would respect the decision of the congress.
As for the Inquisition part, it is intended as humor. I am not surprised that it is lost on you, given your martyr complex, though.
"martyr complex" way to talk about ad hominem debating Mr. Ergenekon.
That much was warranted for him calling me "a tiny cabal of off-game oligarchs"
You are not in the majority PQ. Take away Gnilraps EZC votes he got due to EZC supporting him personally and the votes of those who voted for him thinking they were getting the old Gnilraps and he loses handily to WO. You are a hell of a writer. So while I have no doubt you will attempt to spin in into a mandate, you are too smart to actually believe it.
If the majority wants no dictatorship, then the majority should vote for candidates that promise to vote against dictatorship for a month next term. 🙂
Not like that will happen, though.
Yup, this was the day SFP threw about a year of progress away in 2 days. Well played SFP. Well played.
The goal was not to throw away progress, but to prove that Americans were fed up with Dictatorship. The election was won, not by a greatly reduced forum elite, but by the true, universal suffrage, American people.
Welp it's turned out to be the result. This is where I point out that I held no prejudice against SFP, quite admired the party really. But a facts a fact, the party dun messed up and the only way to save face isn't that much more pretty.
The election was won by a popular candidate against a largely AFK old government, with 46% of the vote vs 44% of the vote. No large mandate. But still, for argument's sake;
Ask yourself this; 100 more votes were added to a SFP candidate. What changed this past month that convinced 1/6th of the player base to oppose DD?
Don't drink the kool aid John, I've been where yer at. There's real opposition and then there's short lived fun. Which is fine, but sometimes it goes to far.
I support the revolution!
Someone call the AMP's, there may soon be an opening in the Top 5.
We are in the bahamas
Kemal was from inci, which to quote Israel Stevens was "an actual terrorist party".
Kettle calling pot black.
Wow that ad hominem hurt so much. Sick burn brah.
At least our party tries to make reform, yes, drastic in extreme cases, but still we want to help this nation and are doing it out of the vision that those who supported our one truly national figure agreed on.
inci was a group of actual PTOers from Turkey who just decided to stay around after they knew it would be easy for them to infiltrate.
iNCi did not come to PTO eUS. Neither did they PTO eUS. Find someone respectable to claim otherwise, given that your account seems to be recent.
FYI, iNCi PTO'ed AFA - the real PTO threat - countless times to help eUS. We also blocked them in our elections, and voted for the unity candidate when there was one, and helped ATO operations throughout the AFA time period.
That's a load of shit.
I was one of the "inci are evil" people when they started pouring in. However I was open minded enough to speak with them first. I was in Congress that month and worked hard to get legislation passed to fund their MU and remove the blacklisting of their congressmen. There were many reasons their actions were misinterpreted interpreted and I won't go into detail. Go to the library of Congress on eUSA forum to see what happened.
BİJİ SOSYALİZM
Why dont you and everybody else dont just stop this stinking bullshit, or you think you and a few others can toss ash on the eyes of the rest, and then simply accept this utterly stupid gibberish you never fail to bring forth?
1. If anyone just sits back for a sec and think about it; the determination was over 6, so any time soon that had to reset!!
2. If point 1 is so, then you thick headed skull should try to induce the thought that BC and SFP did eUS a favour big time by reseting that determination.
3. I said BC & SFP did a favour, because it saved eUS a sum of 200000 cc which was raised to start the Coup.
Now, little fluffy Kemal, it seems to me that either you are mad that you were taken the chance to put down the ducktator (as you aparently like to so much), or you are a total blockhead that cannot make such simple math (you and about anyone that calls this act treacherous).
Now, piss of and lick your tail!!
In fact, I think even those who supported this coup, did not do well the calculations. .. if you do not want dicktator then why dont we put it down when the determination is lower?
So stop also bragging about this supposed freedom, it close enough to Kemals bullshit of calling you traitors!!
U mad?
Not at all, only fed up with such lame shit... and arrogant too, as if we eat grass here!!
Insult, insult, insult, insult.
1) False argument about determination needing to be reset (no it doesn't, see relevant discussions in the congress that have been repeated 23423 times).
2) False, because 1 is false.
3) False, because 1 is false.
insult, insult, lolworthy claim about my math ability.
insult.
GREAT POST 10/10!!
Insult?? That I call your arguments cheesy and oh so lame?
And determination was over six, that i know for sure.
... but, then, it is Kemal, so...
Determination does not need to be reset, because even if determination is x100000, the benefit to the country is the same: a forewarning of 10 days before the MTO attempt occurs. Spending more than 400k after every two months to reset determination for the extra benefit of a campaign is too costly. Even 200k is too costly.
I think there is a lot of truths to both sides. Some of the SFP's views are in the minority as pointed out. As well the votes, choices, the will ...of the democratically elected Congress should be upheld with very few, IF ANY extreme/emergency exceptions that maybe a call for the executive to go against them. That would be a rare and time sensitive situation.
Anyway, I agree the SFP needs to listen to what others are saying and maybe if they stop with all the soap box shouting they will hear better. Those are my hopes at least.
