[CP] Office of the President - Question and Answer Period - Answers - 12/13/12

Day 1,850, 19:02 Published in Canada Canada by Foxfire

Per my article,[CP] Office of the President - Question and Answer Period - 12/12/12, attached below are the answers to the questions posted.

#1 oinyo: Any plans for a training war? If so what stage are we currently at with that?

With most members now stocked full of missles from the Plato missions it would boost everyones gold to use that on Canadian soil to improve their True Patriot mission

Ireland just has to NE us then we are underway. Originally there were designs to have a training war with the UK, but they went with Germany instead. Once the training war with Ireland is done, I’d like to circle back to UK and give it another shot.

We’ve had a nice period of recovery since the Polish wipe, and with MU funding on the horizon it’s time to blow things up.

#2 Toad22: Any progress made on the EDEN front? If we have yet to take action would you possibly support the idea of a national poll on the idea of remaining an independent country opposed to joining a formal alliance?

As our current MPPs already establish a pro-EDEN alliance, we are starting with EDEN to initiate clear direction in international politics.

A report is being created by touching base with the leaders of all the other EDEN countries. This report will better serve to clarify the state of EDEN, the expectations and the interest in us joining. There are clearly a lot of opinions on the matter, so this report will assist in getting straight to the source.

The report will be presented to both Congress and the public. A national poll will be carried out followed by a vote from Congress on joining EDEN. If the vote passes, we approach EDEN.

Everyone will have a say on this matter. If either the public or Congress does not support EDEN, there cannot be a move back to EDEN and other options such as remaining neutral will be explored.

#3 Quimbie Muffins: If a tree falls in a forest can it still be the Minister of Education?

No, but you can be Minister of Education if the tree falls, bounces back, and sporadically rights itself after falling down.

#4 Edmond.D : What colour are your eyes?

Very dark brown to the point of almost black. People have told me eyes look evil. My son has very dark grey eyes, so it’s some sort of genetic thing.

#5 Centurus: Will you be holding a referendum on whether Canada should be in EDEN, CoT, TWO or an Independent country with pro EDEN relations?
When will we have a real war?

i.) Yes. Please see the answer provided to #2
ii.) As much as I can say without giving away a serious tactical advantage, that option is on the table and has been discussed in Closed Door Congress.

#6 Light of Palaero: Forget a training war, when are we attacking the US?

That would be a fourfold process:

1.) When all the e😜at Canadians return to Canada from the US
2.) Our population rises significantly, so the war isn’t 1466 active Canadians verses their 8985 active Americans.
3.) I am so curious what political suicide feels I break and NE the USA
4.) I want to break a record on how fast we could lose the country

#7 TheyCallMeBugs: What are you doing to help Canada's MU's improve themselves towards becoming self sufficient?

If eCanada saved all its funding for an entire year (so no MPPs and no MU funding), it may have enough to make a small to moderate size MU self-sufficient. Obviously that is not an option. Current MU funding is an investment into MUs. If those MUs choose not to budget or spend on infrastructure then no progress will be made towards self-sufficiency.

I am attempting to lead through example on this one. After MU funding stopped I moved to creating a model of self-sufficiency in the Night’s Watch MU. We currently produce 25% of the daily weapons needed, but there are no slave pits (except for N e o’s volunteering. Thank you N e o) and slightly above average salaries. So it is possible to sustain and grow an MU supply structure. If I can do it, anyone can.

#8 hewytaz: Will you nominate Sutler to the order of Canada?

When there is further good will in Canada, I will look at re-opening the order of Canada. At this point, the question of who is more deserving of another would invite debate that would take away from the priorities at hand.

#9 Kronos Q: What has been your biggest realization since you were elected?

How huge the entire eRepublik community is. First days of being a CP are the tidal wave of messages, questions, greetings, offers from hundreds of people who in turn represent several thousands of other people. I was aware of the numbers, but interacting with all of the all at once was a big eye opener of how big this game really is.

#10 Ardikus V2: When will I reach Level 40?

Very soon by the look of it: 74,637/75,000 Pre-congratulations.

#11 TheBurningMan: What is the hardest thing about being a CP and Do you support the use of IRC now being president, if so why, if not why?

i.) A very large amount of time required to complete many different touch points. It’s fun for the most part, but being aware not to stretch yourself too thin is important.

ii.) I’ve explored the #eCan chat and I am continuing to explore other IRCs, but the #eCan chat has only a handful of individuals representative of an even smaller minority of eCanada. It’s not an effective tool to engage people nationally or internationally.

#12 Plugson: What have you started to work on in the first quarter of your term that you hope to complete in the final 3?

A definitive outcome to the EDEN question so eCanada can progress beyond flip-flopping international politics.

A budget that recognizes the benefits of savings.

An increase level of activity and involvement. Many of the programs started have already encouraged players to participate in elements of the game that they may not have been aware that existed. More active people in Canada means a greater economy, a stronger military and a more vibrant environment of players.

eRepublik is much more than just a militaristic simulation game. It has a huge economic component, national politics and international politics modules and is a complex society builder simulation. The game does not run on credit cards alone. No community means no game. No player generated content mean no dynamic interest in the game.

Encouraging player of all activity levels to play the diverse range of activity the game offers would be a good accomplishment.

#13 Catapult: What do you think the tax rate should be set at?

Between 15-20% depending upon the state of the economy. 20% after a wipe, 15% after and during a prosperous time.

It would be nice to have it a lot lower, but Canada doesn’t have the population to support the amount of MPPs we retain and the level of MU funding we distribute at a lower tax level.

#14 crisfire: What are you doing to make sure TemujinBC returns to eCanada where he belongs

I’ve spoken with TemujinBC. I don’t think it’s possible to make him do anything he doesn’t want to do. If he wants to come back, I’m sure he will.

#15 Dozzer_x: Do you think plush toys are lovely?

I do. My son has had a series of medical issues since his birth. Sometimes there comes a point that you just can’t do anything further to alleviate the pain he is in. Bring out one of his stuffed toys and boom, his face lights up. They get the chewed mercilessly but he likes it
