Introduction

Erepublik intends to be an online social, political and economic mass multi player simulation that offers to its members virtual fame, money and power.

Based on the system of free market and on social relations that exist in the public life, the rules of the game are, most of them, created by the users themselves.

As a citizen of Erepublik, you represent your country in the Erepublik world. Your presence in Erepublik can help your country on different domains:

- you can work for a company or create your company - this will have a contribution on you making a fortune and will help your country's economy;
- you can join a party or create your own party - joining a party will give you the chance to become a member in your country's Congress; while being the president of a party will make it possible to become the President of your country;
- you can become a soldier and even a real hero for your country.

I. Social Area

a) My profile

This page provides information about your Erepublik account.
On the right side of your avatar, there are displayed your location (city and country), the date since when you have become a citizen of Erepublik and the area "About me� (here you can add a short description of yourself). You can also update your profile any time you want using the "Edit profile� option. Remember that "Name" and "Email" are private information, while "Gender" and "About me" are public one. Here you can also upload your picture to personalize more your Erepublik presence.

Next to your location you have the option to change it � the suitcase icon. Click on "Change residence� and you will be able to move to another region or country. Keep in mind that every time you move, your wellness will decrease by x%, where x is calculated as follows: x = -6+ q (q is the quality level of the moving ticket you used to move). Be careful: to move to another country you must first resign from your party ownership/membership or your company ownership/job.

On the left you have your wellness level, you can see if you own a house or not and you also have displayed your rank. "1� is the highest rank you can get in Erepublik. You can only own one house and you have to pay a monthly tax for it. This tax is set by the Mayor of your region. If you don't pay the house tax for 3 months, you will be taken the house.
If you want to increase your wellness level, you have to buy again a house.

Inventory:
- you find out here what products you have in the inventory (Food, Weapons, Moving tickets), what quantity and what quality;
- Food is automatically used, once a day, and the only thing that you have to do is to make sure that you don't run out of food; otherwise your wellness level will decrease by 5% for each day without food. When you eat food, your wellness increase by x%, where x is the quality of your food. When your wellness become 0, your Erepublik citizen dies and the next time you try to log into your account, you will be informed about this. You also have the opportunity to restart your life in Erepublik using the "Revive� option. The consequences are that all your skills will decrease by 1 and you won't have national currency in your account.
- Weapons helps you to improve your strength during a war;
- Moving tickets are necessary every time you want to move to another region or country; don't forget that having a higher quality ticket will help you to lose less wellness when you move. Keep in mind that you are not allowed to have in your inventory more than 30 items for each kind of products (food, weapons, moving tickets).

Accounts:
- it provides information about your national currency account and your Gold account; if you move to another country or if your region if conquered during a war, there will be added other accounts with the national currency of the new country you live in. But you will still have your previous national accounts.

Friends:
- here you see who among the Erepublik citizens are already your friends.

Next on your profile you find details about your activities in Erepublik and you are given a rank for each type of activity:

- Social activity: you get informed about the last actions of your friends;
- Economic activity: you can see your skills in each domain (food, hospital, housing, media, moving, weapons), what companies you own or for which company you work (currently and in the past); here are available also the donations you have received from other users.
- Political activity: you find here of what party you are a member or a president, if you are Country President or Congressman (currently and in the past);
- Military activity: here you see what strength you have as a soldier, what rank you have obtained so far, how many fights you won, lost or drew and what distinctions you have been awarded;
- Media activity: the newspaper you publish in Erepublik.

If you access the profile of another Erepublik citizen, you will see the same information, except for his Inventory and his Accounts. Besides, you can send him a friendship request, a message or you can donate him money. If you add other citizen as a friend, this will keep you informed about the user's activity and if he/she accept to be your friend you will receive social points. Be careful not to abuse of "Send message� feature as we will consider it Spam and this can trigger your account suspension. Concerning the donations, you can donate to an user in Erepublik only the currencies for which you have an account.

b) My friends
Having all your friends in one place makes it easier to access their profiles and contact them. Friends are listed according to the general number of acquired points. For each of them you are shown the date when your friendship started.

c) Invite friends
Inviting friends will help a lot your Erepublik experience because:
- they will offer you great support in your Erepublik activity as they can become members of your party, employees in your company or even your voters on the elections;
- for each friend to whom you have sent an invitation and he/she registered Erepublik, you will be given 5 Gold and 5 social points;
- it's fun playing with your friends;
- you help your Erepublik country growing.
You are allowed to invite 5 friends. On the right side of the page you have a box with a standard message, but you are able to change it and you can invite your friends using a customized message.

Be careful, abusing this feature and inviting fake users is absolutely forbidden and can trigger your account suspension.

d) Holiday mode
As a citizen in Erepublik, you can interrupt your activity for a while by going on holiday. During this period, you cannot go on the site unless you decide to finish your vacation. So, you won't be able to work, vote, fight, administrate your company, buy product or to do other usual actions in Erepublik. You don't even have to work when you are in holiday.
During one year, you can be on holiday whenever you want, in the limit of 30 days. If you stay longer, your wellness will decrease and when it is equal to 0, your Erepublik citizen will die.

f) Your region
Find out here information about your region in Erepublik, following these 4 areas: society, economy, politics and military. You have also the possibility to donate money to your region.

g) Society stats
It's about some interesting charts that show: Erepublik monthly population dynamics, top most populated countries and the states with the highest unemployment rate.

h) Top Society
1. Top citizens is based on the number of society points. Here is how you can obtain society points:
- send invitations to your friends and make them become citizens of Erepublik; this will give you 20 social points for each new citizen brought;
- have as many friends as possible in Erepublik. For each citizen who appears in "Your friends" area, both you and him will get 5 social points at the beginning of your friendship; but if you decide to remove a friend from your friends list, you will lose 5 social points.

2. Top countries is calculated on:
- the number of citizens in the country;
- the number of confirmed invitations sent by the country's citizens;
- the number of country's citizens that have a job, divided by two;
- the number of cities, times 10.

II. Economy Area

a) Find a job

Choose the industry that you want to work in, your desired daily salary and post a short description that the employer could be interested in. This way you post your CV on the market. You can also choose not to receive job proposals by hiding your CV.

b) Create a company
In each of the Erepublik industries you have the possibility to create your own company. Be careful that this costs you Gold and needs some management skills in order to make the company profitable. You can own just one company in a certain domain. Note that as a General Manager you can't work in your company or in another one and won't get a salary. Your activity will be to well manage the company, to take care that all your employees come to work every day in order to increase the company's productivity and quality of your company's products. Keep in mind that the last employees coming to work will bring the highest productivity rate. Don't hesitate to fire employees that aren't willing to work as they should be daily.
You can also buy a company that already exists and is available for sale. You just have to click on the link "Buy an existing company� and you will be led to the page where are listed all the companies for sale in your country.
If you already work in a company, you are not allowed to create a new company or to buy an existing one. But if you really want to have your own company, you have first to resign from your previous job.

c) Company page The main information here are about the company.If you are an employee, you have the following features:

- Work: every time you work, your wellness will decrease by x%, where x represents the quality level of the company where you work. Note that you can't work if there is not enough money in the company's account to get your salary.
- Company statistics: access this button and you will be led to a new page where you can find monthly information about your company (number of sold products, average price and when they were sold)
- Resign from this company: if you are not satisfied anymore with your job, you think it doesn't fit to you, you want to create your own company or simply you don't want to work anymore, you can resign from the company; you can do this anytime you want and you don't need the permission of your employer.

As a General Manager, you have more features available in order to manage your company:
- Employees presence: you can see who of your employees came to work, when they have worked the last time, since when they are in your company and what skills they have;
- Manage salaries: you can set the salary of your employees and you have also here the possibility to fire them if you are not satisfied with them;
- Hire employees: you have access to the labour market to send a job proposal to those people who are most suitable for your company;
- Set products for sale: the General Manager has the responsibility to decide what amount of products and at what price they should be put on the market; if the company has an export license, the General Manager can also choose the market where to sell the products.
- Change price: here you can change the price of your offer posted on the market, according to the current circumstances and to your wish;
- Buy export license: in order to wide the economic activity of your company and to benefit from better conditions on foreign markets;
- Exchange money: if you don't have enough Gold or national currency in your company to develop it, you are able to go on the monetary market and to exchange money using your company's accounts.
- Invest money: you should use this feature if there are not enough money to pay the daily salaries of your employees, to pay the company monthly tax or to buy an export license.
- Production quality: in order to improve the quality of your company's products, you need to upgrade your quality. At the beginning, you get Quality 1. To upgrade the quality level you have to pay a fee of 20 Gold. But there's still the condition that you must have 2 or more employees in your company. For each employee who has a skill lower than the quality you want to upgrade to, you have to pay 10 Gold.
The Qualities available in Erepublik so far are:

QC 2: for at least 2 employees;
QC 3: for at least 5 employees;
QC 4: for at least 10 employees;
QC5: for at least 20 employees.

Be careful that if you upgrade your quality and you have products on your stock or on the market, the offer will be removed from the market and your stock will be emptied.
Note that if you have a certain quality, you cannot go back to a lower level of quality.
- Collect profit: because you don't work as a General Manager, collecting the profit of your company is the only way to make money;
- Edit company's details: as a General Manager, you can update company's description and logo;
- Recommend to friends: in order to promote your company, you should announce your friends about your company, even if they are or not Erepublik citizens.
- Sell company: if your company is not profitable anymore, you can put it on sale for a certain price. It is also your responsibility to pay the monthly tax for your company. Be careful to pay it in one month, otherwise your company will be automatically dissolved.

d) Buy Products
Access the market area to buy products that will be added to your Inventory (link goes up to Inventory description). You can choose the products according to their quality and their price.
The products that you can buy are:
- Food: having food in your inventory will let you live. Daily, it will be consumed automatically 1 food. If the stock is empty, you will be warned by email that you have to buy food otherwise your wellness will become lower.
- Weapons: consuming one weapon during a war will increase your Strength for a weak; the higher is the quality of your weapon, the stronger you will be in the battle.
- Moving tickets: a moving ticket offers you the opportunity to move to another region/country; remind that using a moving ticket will decrease your wellness.

- House: if you eat and you own a house, you will get an extra wellness equal to the quality level of the house;
- Hospital: if you eat and there's a hospital in your region, you will get an extra wellness equal to the quality level of the hospital.

e) Exchange money
You need more Gold or more national currency? Access this area and you can buy the currency you need. You can choose from the existing offers or, if you consider them not fair enough, you can post your own offer on the market. Be careful to the recommended exchange rates. If you own a company, you can also exchange money from your company's account. If you are a Country President or a Mayor, you can make transaction on the monetary market using the accounts of your country, respectively your region.

f) Economy stats
Here you find statistics concerning industries (sales, number of companies and employees), market sales, currency rates.

g) Top Economy

1. Top businessmen - Top businessmen: based on the number of points acquired in the economy area. The points will be awarded considering these criteria:
- the best skill value * 10 (for example if you have 3 productivity in the food industry and this is your best productivity you will receive 30 points);
- value of Gold in your account (if you have 24 gold in account you will receive 24 points);
- having a job will give you 50 points;
- plus 200 Gold for each company that you own;
- dditionally, you receive the value of total sales in gold divided by 5 (if you would have made sales of 100 USD and the recommended currency rate is 1 gold = 2 USD then you would have added 100/2/5 points = 10 points).

2. Top countries calculated on:
- GDP in gold;
- the number of companies in that country times 5.

3. Top companies ranked by the value of sales in gold.

4. Taxes in Erepublik
According to your economic actions in Erepublik, there are some taxes you have to pay:
- income tax: it applies to all the revenues in Erepublik, such as profit, salaries;
- import tax: you pay it when you buy� products from a foreigner producer;
- VAT: the tax you pay every time you buy something from the market;
- party tax: this is set by default in Erepublik;
- house tax: you have to pay it monthly and it is set by the Mayor of your region;
- company tax: you have to pay it every month and it is also set by the Mayor.
The 3 types of taxes are proposed by the Country President and they must be voted by the Congress to can be applied.

III. Political Area

a) President area
Page accessible only for the President who will be able to use this feature to modify the country budget, to propose laws, change taxes, to propose a war or to set the citizen fee. The citizen fee is received by an user when he register for the first time on the site or when an existing citizen move to another country for the first time.

b) Join a party
It leads you to the list of parties available in your country. Choose the party that you believe to be the most suitable for you, bring more members and participate at elections. If you are one of the top members of the party (the top is made by the party's president) you have the chance to become a Congressman.

c) Create party
Create here your own party. It will be hard but if you convince people to support your party you can become the president of your country.
You have to be one of the top 5 parties in your country (considering the number of members) to participate at the elections. Even if you won't be elected as a president you have a great chance to become a Congressman. Stay tuned as the voted president will need Congress majority to pass his laws.

As a Party President, if you decide to resign, you won't be anymore the leader of your party, but you'll still be a party member. In order to end your political activity, you also have to resign as a party member.

d) Party page
Here you can access your party's page. As a president of your party you can decide the importance of the members in the members list (important for the Congressmen elections), create press releases and, very important, bring more people to your cause.
Using this page every user can give money to the party. Later, the raised funds will help promoting the party.

e) Political stats
They provides information concerning the rulers of your country (President and Congress), latest President proposals, latest parties press releases, last elections statistics.

f) Top politics

1. Top Politicians - calculated using:
- each participation at voting will give you 20 points;
- being a party member gives you 50 points
- being a Party President gives you 200 points; additionally, you receive 5 points for each member of your party;
- being a Congressman will offer you 200 points;
- the president of each country has 500 points, plus the number of country's points divided by 10.

2. Top Countries
- the number of parties in that country times 5;
- the number of party's members;
- the number of voters at the latest elections divided by 5.
3. Top parties - top parties based on the number of members.

Elections in Erepublik:
General Elections:
- they are held on the 1st day of each month and only the party presidents are allowed to post their candidacy for the Country President position;
- if more than two candidates get the same number of votes, the winner will be the one who has the more political experience, so the criteria is the date when the citizen started his political activity.
Party Elections:
- these are held monthly, on the 10th , and only the party members can participate;
- if two or more candidates have received the same number of votes, the winner will be the candidate with the higher position in his party.
Local Elections:
- those are the elections for the Mayor of a region and take place on the 20th of each month;
- the criteria applied in case of equality of votes is the number of party members: if more candidates obtain the same number of votes, the winner will be one who is member of the party with the highest number of members.

IV. Military Area

a) Become a soldier / Train here
"Become a soldier" feature is available for all the users. All citizens in Erepublik have the right to become soldiers, even if they are employees, General Managers, party members, Party Presidents, Congressmen or Country Presidents.
As a soldier, you can increase your strenght by training daily. Accessing the "Train here" link, your strength will increase according to your military skills; but you won't be paid for your military activity. Having a high strength level is very important in fights. The more powerful you are, the more chances you have to win fights against your enemies. Your chances to get a victory depend also on the number of weapons you use. One weapon helps you in the military activity for a week. The quality of your weapon is also important; when you attack your enemy, your hit depends on your strength and your weapon's quality as follows:
Hit level= strength + quality of weapon*10%
As a soldier, you can find on your profile page the following information about your military activity:

the strength you have after training
your military rank; this depends on the number of victories you have as follows:

Private: from 0 to 2 fights won
Corporal: from 3 to 9 fights won
Sergeant: from 10 to 19 fights won
Lieutenant: from 20 to 49 fights won
Captain: from 50 to 99 fights won
Colonel: from 100 to 199 fights won
General: from 200 to 499 fights won
Field Marshal: more than 500 fights won

b) Military stats
Here you have an overview of the military situation in Erepublik.
On the top of the page you can find the latest wars that took place in Erepublik, when they started and the number of fights. For more details you have to click on the "war coverage" "war coverage" link. It will lead you to the War Details page.
Next you can see a chart with the number of all the fights that took place during the wars in Erepublik and other information concerning the military domain (number of soldiers and average strength in Erepublik).
You find also the war proposals made in Erepublik. A war proposal is accepted if the number of "Yes" votes is higher than the number of "No" votes or if there are equal numbers of "Yes" and "No" votes.

c) Top military

1. Top country military:all the countries in Erepublik are ranked taking into account the military points, calculated as follows:
- number of military strength (number of soldiers * soldier's average strength level
- 100 * number of battle victories
2. Top soldiers: the criterion of this top is the strength of each soldier.
3. Top heroes: the soldiers are ranked according to their number of victories.

d) War page
This page is available only if there is a war in progress between your country and another country in Erepublik. But if there is already a war in your country and it will be involved in other war too, no penalty will be applied.
Here is presented the military information about the two countries that are fighting. For each of them you find:

the total number of soldiers who are fighting;
the total fights
all the regions of the 2 countries involved in the war.

For each region you can see the number of soldiers defending that region (the green soldier icon) and the number of soldiers who are attacking it (the red soldier icon). The regions are written in blue and red. A red one is a "First line region": it is neighbor of another region of the enemy country and it can be attacked by the enemies. The blue region can only be defended by the soldiers of the country it belongs to. Under each region, there is the "details" link; clicking on it will lead you to the fight held on that region.

For each region you can see details about the fights that are taking place there. On a fight page is available the following information:

on the top of the fight area are shown the actions of all the users who got involved in the fight: when they have joined or left the fight, the damage that a soldier caused to another, who was killed and by whom, which region was conquered.
under this area you have a link called "See history" that leads you to a page where you can see all the actions that took place in that fight;
if you are a soldier defending the region or if you attack a first line region, then the button "Join this fight" is available for you. To be able to use it, you need to have a strength value equal or higher than 1.0; once you have clicked on "Join this fight", you can fight in that region. In order to defend or attack the region, you have to click on the button called "Attack", placed under the avatar of your enemies. You have the possibility to choose the soldier you want to attack and you can attack different soldiers during a fight. If you attack an enemy and he doesn't die, he gives you automatically a counterattack; otherwise, if you win the fight from the first attack, your enemy will be defeated and his strength will become 0.
If you are engaged in a fight but you want to give up, you have to click "Retreat". If you are in a region of your enemy and you defeated all the soldiers defending that region or there are no soldiers defending it, you have two options: to retreat from the region ("Retreat" button) or to conquer the region ("Take this region" button). If you take a region, it will become part of your country and you will be a defender of it.
When a region is conquered, the consequences are the following:
if the capital of the country is taken by the enemy and there are still free regions, the region with the highest number of citizens will become the new capital. But if the capital is the last free region, the country is totally conquered and the Country President and the Congressmen become common citizens of the victorious country.
the users from the defeated region will become citizens of the country that won the fight, unless they are Country President or Congressmen, in this case they will be automatically be moved to the (new) capital. The users of the conquered region who had military activity won't be soldiers anymore.
if you are soldier, you loose a fight, but your region is not taken, you are still a soldier, but the value of your strength will be 0.
the Mayor of a conquered region becomes a common citizen of the victorious country and a new Mayor will be chosen at the next local elections.
all the users of a conquered region who own companies, newspapers or rule a party will still own them; if there are employees or party members belonging to other regions, they will be automatically removed; otherwise, they will still be part of the concerned companies or parties.

e) President area in a war

If you are a Country President, you are the only one who can make a war proposal. This proposal needs to be voted by the National Congress. During the war, as Country President, you have the possibility to propose a peace treaty using the feature "Request peace treaty". This is available on the War, Fight, Military stats, Top military and Training pages. The peace can be made in the next 3 circumstances:

you just ask for peace without paying or getting any money;
your country demands for a certain amount of Gold from the enemy country;
your country offers a certain amount of Gold to the enemy country.
