True Patriot Achievement Affects Immigration

26 April 2012
After a significant downtime, eRepublik servers fired back up again this morning with information pertaining to a new "Achievement".
At first glance, the "True Patriot" medal, worth 5 Gold, seemed rather straight forward and not worth my time in 16 Shells.
But then I visited the Wiki page pertaining to this game-changer.
This is not merely 5 Gold for 100K damage, as it appears to be at first glance.
This is 5 Gold awarded on an incremental scale of Battle Influence done.
So over the course of time, this contributes more Gold to your accounts as you do more damage.
What does this mean?
The first most obvious implication of this new medal is that strength training just became less expensive. Since this award is tied to INFLUENCE rather than kills, it will come easier to those with higher strength. At my current strength and rank, it took me 12 clicks to get the 5 Gold at 100K.
The second less obvious implication is found in the following "fine print":
"If you change your citizenship, the counter will be reset, however you will not receive another medal for the same interval that you have already achieved."
In other words, if you have accumulated 40,000,000 in damage and have received the 11 awards of 5 Gold each, you cannot change citizenship and pick up where you left off. YOU WILL START OVER FROM 0, AND WILL NOT COLLECT ANY GOLD FROM THIS MEDAL UNTIL YOU HAVE DONE 50,000,000 IN YOUR NEW CITIZENSHIP.
Most importantly, a Citizen's True Patriot achievement will become a permanent part of their public record, meaning everyone will be able to see your citizenship history if you have fought for the national interests of the countries you have been citizen of.
Example, scroll to the very bottom of Andreas Mihai's profile. His citizenship was granted today by USWP member Mythos72 (just as MANY Greek citizens have similarly been granted CS from USWP congressmen... a story I may need to work on). At the bottom of Andreas Mihai's profile, you will see this:
As you see, his Greek influence is permanently part of his record, and as soon as he logs damage as a citizen of the eUSA, that damage will also appear.
Immigration officials are jumping for joy.

my question is:
if you do 50mil influence for country A, then switch citizenship to country B, then swap back to country A at some point, does the old damage you did for country A still count?
vote and sub.
good information.
When MU orders send us to fight for other countries, we now have incentive to ignore the orders.
i guess what i'm asking is whether your profile will keep multiple counters on it that reflect all of your previous damages by citizenship, and if you would resume from those numbers if you swap back to one of the old citizenships
I like this achievement, here's why: Gnilly is right on about the good info on approving citizenship apps, going to make immigration decisions a whole lot easier. This will put gold into the pockets of players for a short period before the damage counts make it more lengthy to get done. Also, it's almost an "anti true-patriot" initiative...Zheng He is right - if you're inclined to play the game not as part of a team but for your own self above all, you'll ignore your orders to fight 4 allies.

Puts another dilemma/choice in front of players as to how and why they want to play. I'm almost (almost...) proud I don't have a Mercenary medal. it's pretty rare i'll go out and pick up kills for random countries to fill that out, maybe a handful of times I've done that. This game is more or less played solo, but can be played with the understanding that it's a team effort too. that's they way it becomes more worthy of our time.
Damn Gnil, you typed this up so fast you typed Patirot?
Damn Commie!
@Fitisin, Do both.
Where was this when I hit for Hungary? Then the fgts calling me a traitor would see what I've done for the eUS since I came back.
worthy read as always!
This just goes to show you how retarded the average eRep player is at understanding simple information...jeeze ppl derp a doo
LoooooooL
We need to settle the payment : P
P.s you can take a better screenshot now from my profile i made some damage for USA

Good info. I believe all of the above questions can be answered if you will just click on the link and read the wiki.

This achievement also affects multis because of the amount of gold that can be harvested with relative ease. 100,000 influence is very easy to get since the early missions rewards a large number of bazookas.

What Zheng He said.
This undermines command and control for every alliance.
LOL!
I love the remarks. 🙂
3 months from now no one will care except n00bs. Well Romper might, I'm sure he collected about 50 gold today.
Quality article, vote.
