After a significant downtime, eRepublik servers fired back up again this morning with information pertaining to a new "Achievement".

At first glance, the "True Patriot" medal, worth 5 Gold, seemed rather straight forward and not worth my time in 16 Shells.

But then I visited the Wiki page pertaining to this game-changer.

This is not merely 5 Gold for 100K damage, as it appears to be at first glance.

This is 5 Gold awarded on an incremental scale of Battle Influence done.

So over the course of time, this contributes more Gold to your accounts as you do more damage.
What does this mean?

The first most obvious implication of this new medal is that strength training just became less expensive. Since this award is tied to INFLUENCE rather than kills, it will come easier to those with higher strength. At my current strength and rank, it took me 12 clicks to get the 5 Gold at 100K.

The second less obvious implication is found in the following "fine print":

"If you change your citizenship, the counter will be reset, however you will not receive another medal for the same interval that you have already achieved."

In other words, if you have accumulated 40,000,000 in damage and have received the 11 awards of 5 Gold each, you cannot change citizenship and pick up where you left off. YOU WILL START OVER FROM 0, AND WILL NOT COLLECT ANY GOLD FROM THIS MEDAL UNTIL YOU HAVE DONE 50,000,000 IN YOUR NEW CITIZENSHIP.

Most importantly, a Citizen's True Patriot achievement will become a permanent part of their public record, meaning everyone will be able to see your citizenship history if you have fought for the national interests of the countries you have been citizen of.

Example, scroll to the very bottom of Andreas Mihai's profile. His citizenship was granted today by USWP member Mythos72 (just as MANY Greek citizens have similarly been granted CS from USWP congressmen... a story I may need to work on). At the bottom of Andreas Mihai's profile, you will see this:

As you see, his Greek influence is permanently part of his record, and as soon as he logs damage as a citizen of the eUSA, that damage will also appear.

Immigration officials are jumping for joy.
