Time to put things right?

Day 1,041, 04:09 Published in India India by LordRajIndia

Many of you will have seen my recent comments in the Congressional election articles, which appear to be causing some controversy.

(If not, it may be best to view them to understand the rest of this article: http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/congress-election-official-candidates-updated-1525404/1/20 )

However, I'm not putting across my views for my own personal interest and satisfaction, or because ‘I want to be a congress member’, but to represent many other citizens who feel the same way. Instead of keeping quiet like most, I have decided to speak out and campaign to put these injustices right. However, this proves a great challenge as most don't bother listening or just throw a load of abuse back to me for basically daring to speak out. How is this fair?

I'm no attacker or threat to the country, the country has my full support and I am campaigning to make it fairer, stronger and on the whole a far better place by trying to remove this corrupt political system.

I joined erepublik / eindia in December 2009 and after a couple of months or so I was seeing little reason to carry on as I was on the receiving end of all sorts of ridiculous accusations. To cut a long story short, my welcome here was not one to remember.

I can understand why some people do not like me as I haven't the time to keep up my newspaper or post in forums. Like most, my real life and family are my first priorities. Some say I don't take part in government activities, but as my welcome here wasn't great I don't know how to and still not aware of some aspects of the game. I have also applied for the NPF and armed forces several times but have always been denied even though I have met their requirements.

In my situation, a lot of people would have quit altogether, an option I have considered many times. However, I'm not one for giving in! I am here to help improve things and speak on behalf of many others and most of all want to have fun in this game as India is great place.

Don’t bother viewing this article as my erepublik life sob story in order to get support and sympathy. I am simply putting the current situation into reality and raise awareness. If people want to stand for candidacy then they should be allowed to. It doesn't mean they will get the votes, but at least they can participate and have fun. By denying people this, they will lose interest and either leave eindia and/or erepublik altogether. People cannot and shouldn’t be dictated to as to who they should and shouldn’t vote for.

Thank you to those who show their understanding and appreciation. I am grateful to those out there who share the same views and do not see me as some sort of evil infiltrator.
