The Simple Maths Guide To Training Contracts

Day 2,879, 11:22 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by HebronGazelle

Hey guys, I understand that training contracts can be complicated to most players (especially with the maths involved) and some people are put off buying them. I thought I would write up a mathematical article for those who aren't very good at maths so they can find out whether to buy a contract. Don't be put off! This article is easy to follow for all, and you should easily be able to work through it with just a simple calculator. Here we go...

The Calculations

So to find out whether a training contract is beneficial you need to first calculate four different values. Fortunately I've written them out in a very simple way that anyone should be able to understand (you don't need a maths degree) and do as long as you have a calculator with you. Note down the values you get for A, B, C and D.

How To Calculate A
INPUT strength gained per day + 1.8
MULTIPLY by 30
DIVIDE by 250
MULTIPLY by 5
Now you have gold gained over a month (A)

How To Calculate B
INPUT gold spent on training a day
MULTIPLY by 30
Now you have gold spent with no contract (B )

How To Calculate C
INPUT gold spent on training a day
MULTIPLY by 30
MULTIPLY by 0.5
ADD 25
Now you have gold spent with 50% contract (C)

How To Calculate D
INPUT gold spent on training a day
MULTIPLY by 30
MULTIPLY by 0.1
ADD 53
Now you have gold spent with 90% contract (D)

Now Which Contract Should I Get?
Now this is the simple bit, you are going to take away B, C and D from A individually to get 3 more values. The greatest of these values should tell you which one you should buy.

DO A - B
DO A - C
DO A - D

If A - B is greatest, don't buy a contract
If A - C is greatest, buy a 50% contract
If A - D is greatest, buy a 90% contract

It is very simple maths, and now you should know which contract (or no contract) is best for you when the training contract offers come around.

An Example Of Calculations
Below I have included calculations to show you how it should be done if you are stuck with the instructions given above. This example uses my own stats for gold spent per day and strength gained per day, based on using all four fully upgraded training grounds.

A
90 + 1.8 = 91.8
91.8 * 30 = 2754
2754 / 250 = 11.016
11.016 * 5 = 55.08
Therefore A = 55.08

B
2.87 * 30 = 86.1
Therefore B = 86.1

C
2.87 * 30 = 86.1
86.1 * 0.5 = 43.05
43.05 + 25 = 68.05
Therefore C = 68.05

D
2.87 * 30 = 86.1
86.1 * 0.1 = 8.61
8.61 + 53 = 61.61
Therefore D = 61.61

A - B = -31.02
A - C = -12.97
A - D = -6.53

A - D has the greatest value. Therefore my best option is to buy the 90% contract. In comparison to training without a contract I save 24.49 gold.

I Can't Find Gold Spent Per Day Or Strength Gained Per Day
To calculate gold spent per day read the following:
Gold spent at training grounds 1 = 0
Gold spent at training grounds 2 = 0.19
Gold spent at training grounds 3 = 0.89
Gold spent at training grounds 4 = 1.79
Add up all of the training grounds you use, simple. You now have gold spent per day.

To calculate strength gained per day read the following:
For training grounds 1, do 5 * quality of grounds.
For training grounds 2, do 2.5 * quality of grounds.
For training grounds 3, do 5 * quality of grounds.
For training grounds 4, do 10 * quality of grounds.
Add up all of the values, simple. You now have strength gained per day.

Extra Notes For Extra Understanding
Here is some extra information you do not need to know, but those who want to understand the calculations better may want to know the information.
- For A, 1.8 was added as you gain 9 strength every 5 days
- The cost of a 50% training contract is 25 gold
- The cost of a 90% training contract is 53 gold
- (A - B ), (A - C) and (A - D) show your monthly profit.
- You can't make a profit with the training grounds (except by using the free one, or the free and the second one depending on what quality they are), but you are better off in comparison to no contract with some gold/strength combinations

Now you should be able to find out whether you want a training contract or not. Remember that training contract offers come around every 3-4 weeks and they might be beneficial to you, so know what you are doing! Have fun, and keep training!
