I read an interesting study on one's onlne personality vs real life. The conclusion was that our online actions are an exaggeration of who we fundamentally are since there are fewer consequences to guide us. Says it all really. So keep telling yourselves it is all okay since it is just a game... we see your soul for what it really is in your 'fun' words, 'joke' deeds and 'sham' reactions.

Its true, but not just online personality. I have played DnD for years, even in RP games like that ones true personality comes out in the role they play, how they play the role and the character they create and roleplay with, its quite facinating to sit and watch a person's RL subcouncious or underlying personality which is normally constrained by Social norms emerge in these types of things.

Yep, they do, and what you tend to find over a long term period of RP, especially with DnD and ADnD is that they may play other character types but often the personality often comes out exactly the same as the main character type and personality types they play on a regular basis. Over the many years I have been playing eRep, I have noticed the same kind of thing happens.

Only real difference in erep is that the original players tended to have much more honour in resspect to their dealings, the new batch of people tend to just let their RL personalities and subconcious run free, allowing more of their true selves to emerge.

now if we check regular law you will see that only crimes that have actuall consequences can be judge for in internation law. Soo, this is not RL, this is game, and usage of term "genocide" is not right to use. At leaste you can say that this is a Hate speack, but even that you can't prove since hate speach should be towords some specified groupe also in real life , but as we all know we are now South Africans? and Makedonians are not makedonians but also South Africans?

Every check on the definition of genocide is ticked so it is genocide. The definition does not distinguish between RL and virtual. You would be hard pressed to distinguish virtual mental anguish from RL mental anguish. Only you seem to believe there was is a difference. Ask yourself why behaving virtually in a manner reprehensible in RL is even remotely acceptable even virtually.

okay, when we kill someone in game then you can say genocide. But just saying someone to leave ( without actual power to force them to leave ) is not genocide.

I suppose people leaving the game isn't an eDeath. Destroying a community of virtual friends who just happen to speak and meet in RL isn't real because it is not your make-belive friends and comrades . Targeting others because you hate them in RL or simply don't think of them as human on the internet isn't a real world crime because they don't feel like normal people. The avatars are obviously not reaIly masking living people. We are not real so the genocide is not real. It must be a great comfort to cosy up in that truth.

Racism used to be such a huge part of SA life, but i can not think to be racist against someone consciously. I simply can not turn my back on anyone who has not turned their back on me.
