The current situation of Hungary – through the eyes of an ex-vMoFA

Day 1,448, 17:14 Published in Poland Hungary by Tomeczek

On Day 1,447 the newly elected President of Hungary, Akitlosz took over his office. My party, SzEM was supporting another candidate in the elections. Nevertheless, after considering the grave situation Hungary is currently in, I decided to offer my help to him and to the new government. I was appointed as vMoFA of Hungary and we immediately set to work.

Taking over the various organizations, IRC channels and all the rest from the previous government was quite complicated, and this took most of that day. Things were progressing particulary slowly in the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Defense.

Later that same day one of the Hungarian military units, Magyar Légió announced their departure from the Hungarian Armed Forces, stating that they would not return for as long as Akitlosz was the Hungarian CP. At the same time various strong figures opposing Akitlosz were planning to impeach him – even before the elections were officially over.

(Akitlosz has had a particularly bad reputation among a large number of experienced e-Hungarians, because of an old story. Someone withdrew 300 golds from the state accounts and after splitting it to three equal parts sent to it to 3 people, one of them being Akitlosz. The two other people sent the gold back to the state, but Akitlosz refused to do so, sending it to a party instead, where it became practically unreacheable. After that, many people considered Akitlosz a thief.)

The next day, Day 1,448 things progressively became even worse. First Lawyee, CP of (Czecho-) Slovakia proposed an MPP with Hungary. Akitlosz, whose election programme included getting bonus regions from Slovakia, asked the Congress to vote NO for the proposal. He claimed he has been holding discussions with the Slovakian government, Lawyee however later claimed that he has not been informed by anyone of any such discussions. The issue of the Slovakian MPP caused considerable upheaval in the Hungarian society, as Slovakia has been a close ally of Hungary in the past 1,5 years.

During the afternoon, articles offering large sums of money for the Congress members in exchange for a succesful impeachment were published in the Hungarian press.

The next sign of total disobedience towards the government was the action of Lovika, who simply overtook the main Hungarian IRC military channel (#csopper on Rizon), banned every single person online, and closed down the channel altogether.

A little while later one of the Congress members, Eniac11 proposed the impeachment of Akitlosz.

In the evening there was a Congress session where Akitlosz was officially introduced to the Congress, and he was able to state his opinion about various issues and to answer a series of questions. The session was far from being a success.

Even later in the evening, Akitlosz did the unthinkable: he proposed an MPP between Bulgaria and Hungary. This action left me no choice but to immediately step down from the position of vMoFA, and leave the government. I can not bear to be associated with this act of treachery towards Hungary and towards the alliance of ONE as a whole.

The outcome of the impeachment proposal against Akitlosz is as yet unknown.

At the same time – sickened by the political turmoil in Hungary in the recent times and especially the past few days – I have decided to step down as President of my party, SzEM, and to leave Hungary for the time being. I applied for the Polish citizenship (one I possess in RL too), and after receiving it, I am now a proud citizen and e-citizen of Poland.
