Some Questions for Joseph Dinero

It appears, that we have a latecomer to the Presidential Race. Late last night, Joseph Dinero published an article, and formally threw his name into the hat. You can read his announcement article here.

Some of you may remember Joseph Dinero from his botched Presidential run in April 2012. He won a few primaries (notably the Federalist’s), and came within 1 vote of winning the American Military Party’s as well. But he ended up derping around, and got himself knocked off the ballot. He switched parties too late in the election process. He wrote a nice article explaining himself, and taking responsibility for it, if you would like to read it.

I would like to know why Mr Dinero declared so late in the game, thereby depriving almost all of the parties a chance to actually consider him for the Presidency?

As someone that has done the same thing as Mr Dinero (not making it onto the ballot), I have to ask this question:
How does your failure to understand basic game mechanics, make you the right choice to be our President in these trying times? I would also like to know what Mr Dinero learned from his Political Faux Pas?

Mr Dinero also supported Glove’s Presidency in August. The same presidency that nearly bankrupted the country fighting against the Indonesians. Millions of USD were used by Glove and was spent buying mercenaries.
Mr Dinero: Do you support the same kind of reckless spending that Glove did? The same type of spending that is hugely responsible for our current economic weakness.



After reading Mr Dinero’s announcement article, I have even more questions.

Mr Dinero says about foreign affairs: ”Maturity and common sense is needed here. We look like fools. We NEED to move forward with an alliance of FRIENDS with common goals. Allies are people we trust, people who trust us. Allies are people that will setup MPP stacks WITH us and our allies, not do what they want and drag us along. ACTIONS speak volumes in this arena.”

In all my time in eRepublik, I’m not sure that I have heard a more simple explanation of foreign affairs than that right there. We need friends? No kidding. We need MPPs? You don’t say.
Mr Dinero, do you have a plan to actually move us forward, beyond speaking in generalities?

I also read that Mr Dinero would seek to regain the very same bonuses that were a huge contributor to us getting PTO’d. In my opinion, this shows a huge lack in understanding about where we currently are as a nation, and what sort of challenges we face politically.

I’m going to toss out some numbers. In October’s Congress Elections, there were 300 less votes than there were in September. From September to October, the AFA lost about 6 votes.
Considering that they used Citizenship approvals to bring in more than 250 people into America during that time, they should have destroyed us. The only reason that the AFA is maintaining their edge, is because they have a deep pool to pull rogue citizenships from.

The AFA should have used the 250+ citizens they brought into the country, to destroy us in elections. But yet, they actually lost votes.

Increasing our bonuses, increases the amount of people that want to come to this country. That in turn, increases the amount of people going into the AFA. We have slowly begun to turn the tide against the AFA, but we need to stay on course. Drying up the well of Citizenship applicants, can be the blow that finally brings the AFA to their knees.
Getting more bonuses is not the answer.

In light of this argument, I would like to hear Mr Dinero explain why he thinks more bonuses will get us out of this mess? And I want to hear more than just generalities. How about some hard numbers, Mr Dinero.
