Soft like a Jelly Donut

How did we get this way?

I was planning on writing an article today where I talked about the differences that I’ve noticed between being PotUS in 2012 and 2016. But then something actually happened. Which is super exciting. So I’ll be writing about some of that stuff now. I do still want to talk about the difference that four years makes, but perhaps another time.

We’re going to start with the most recent events, and then work backwards. I think it will flow better that way. I hope so anyways. Molly Emma got me drunk (this is such good gin Molly!), so it will probably just be a bunch of words strung together into moderately coherent sentences. But hey. Better than last month. Amirite?

Senryaku
Makes me sad.

For those that don’t know, Senry sold off a MU he had to The Dark Knight. TDK promptly gave it to a FYROM (Macedonia is Greece, bro). And that dude started a Revolution with it. Fun.

I like Senry. I’ve known him for a while now. He was in AMP for a bit. Helped out and did stuff. But he left, along with everyone else. I was never particularly close with him. He was new, and I was old.
I appointed him as Secretary of Defense on the recommendation of Hale26. I didn’t think that I would like Senry as my SoD, but I wanted that WTP nomination, and I’ve known Hale for a while. So I figured I would give Senry the job, and treat USAF like every other President treats it: red-headed step child.

I was wrong.

Senry was (and still is) a talented Secretary of Defense. He’s smart and motivated and not afraid to stand up for what he believes in. As we found out yesterday, his fierce belief in doing what he feels is right, can sometimes work against him.

He feels like he had a debt to TDK. And when TDK asked for a MU, Senry delivered one to him. Senryaku is smart, and he knew what was going to happen with that MU. But he believes in repaying his debt, so he sold it off anyways.

And now here we are.
Senryaku has left me little choice, but to remove him as Secretary of Defense. As much as I like him, and as valuable as he is, he can no longer remain in the position of Secretary of Defense, given all that has transpired.

I wish him the best of luck, and hope that one day the eUS Community can see it in themselves to forgive Senry for what he has done.

The Dark Knight

HAHAHAHAHAHA… oh man…

Congress gonna get him good

About that Persian Plunder…

There’s been a lot of outcry about this. So let’s get some facts straight.

There was NEVER any sort of agreement between the United States and Iran. Or Black Academi. Or ANYONE. I don’t even need to have been around to tell you that. The United States would never allow one of it’s Organizations to be in foreign hands. Whether by agreement, or otherwise.

The only time we even allow non-Americans into Organizations is when we give an Org to our alliance. Terra had one. I think the Pacifica Org is American. The point is, the United States doesn’t give, rent, sell, loan, gift, or do ANYTHING with our Orgs besides hold onto them in the faint hopes that Plato will decide to make them useful.

So for those that are saying that it was the Iranian’s rights to use that Org, you’re wrong. They had no right to that Org. It was American. From beginning, until the servers shut down. It was American, and will remain American.

I will concede, that the last person to have access to the Org probably made some sort of deal with Black Academi to give them the Org. It is unfortunate for them that they never sought to solidify that deal with the sitting President of the United States. They should have, for their own interests.

But they didn’t.
Iran, or Black Academi took the Org from the United States.
They used it for a very long time. They even decided to change the name.
Thieves receive no recourse when they steal things. They shouldn’t have been using an American Org in the first place. It was ours. Everything in it was ours. Whether we put it there or not.

If you break into my house, and decide to live there for a few years, you can’t be upset when I throw you out and keep all your stuff.

And to my fellow Americans,
What happened to you? Have you been so softened over the years that you have forgotten that this is a game? That we’re supposed to not try and be friends with every single country in the world?

The Wild Owl Doctrine is amazing. It has done for this country what tens of Presidents have strove to do. It has provided us with an unprecedented level of security. We no longer fear a summer invasion. We no longer have any great fear of invasion. Period.

But in our quest to protect our borders, we have grown soft. We try so hard to please every country in the world, that we forget to look out for ourselves.

Taking advantage of this mistake by Black Academi is a good thing. Not just financially. But the fact that they are upset at us.
As Molly Emma says:
That's the point! GOOD that other people are pi***d!
Gawd, were you people even conscious before a year or two ago? The insults and trolling and subsequent invasions were the cat's ***.

The game that we have created and the people that play it think that the game is played by making nice with everyone out there. That’s not the case. And that isn’t what keeps people active and engaged.

That is not the eRep that I remember. The eRep that I remember is staying up way too late because the Air Force officers walked off the job. Or trying to snipe Congressional seats away from the Feds or USWP. It was a Presidency that was filled with late night discussions, and early morning meetings. A Presidency that dealt with one crisis after another.

That is what made this game fun. And that is why so many of us stick around. In hopes that Admin will make a change that can return us to that.

Whining and hand wringing over another country’s mistake is not going to change anything.

Did we cry when Spain lost 16k gold because they sold a company? Of course not. We laughed at them. And still do.

Iran messed up. The United States benefited. Good. Let’s find out what happens next.
