Elections are over and Saoirse won the elections. Irish people have chosen again. We, the Saoirse, are grateful for the trust that was put in us to represent our country ones again as a most respected party in Irish congress. As our tradition we will be donating most/all of our Congressman medal gold to the Irish state organisations! Our proud and patriotic tradition!
As a party we have grown even more. More democratic, more friendly and more opened to our new members. This month we pushed our youth as a future of Ireland rather then electing same people again and again. Also we have preferred some of our old friends, Eire Aonair party members as we have the up most respect for them.
Saoirse as the biggest Irish party will continue to contribute to the society by making donations to the Irish youth in the upcoming weeks. Also there are projects that will involve inviting more Irish players to eRepublik to make our country even stronger. There are number of projects i would like to start but there will be time for that in the upcoming days.
Ones again TY people of Ireland we hope we will make you proud as you made us!

This wasn't a win or a loss for Saoirse. We got 33% of the vote and we were exactly 33% of the population of the top 5 parties at the time. It was exactly what was to be expected, nothing more and nothing less.
Congrats to the ILP for getting so many votes despite being relatively inactive for the last few months (at least in public). Whatever you are doing behind closed doors to win votes, apparently it is working...

I'd like to thank Saoirse and the Irish Freedom Party for giving four great Irish citizens a chance to serve. I'd like to thank the Independent Labour Party, and Irish Union Party who I know have done eIreland that same favour before in the past. I'd like to thank all of the parties in eIreland who have ever put the best interests of eIreland before all else.

Eh, nothing wrong with a little friendly competition between rival parties. I mean we gotta do SOMETHING to make this game more interesting...
^ of course I agree. But it seems like splitting hairs to me - It was a close election, and if someone wanted to do an article they could compare a lot of different numbers:
party size vs. representation
pure numbers of members elected
% of the vote
The question of who "won" seems like one thats open to interpretation, given how close a race it was by many comparisons. Without a doubt Saoirse and the Independent Labour Party are eIreland's two political giants, and have been for some considerable time now.
True enough Ian. In the end there really is no good answer to the question because there is no way to know for sure whether or not our guest candidates took away seats that we would have otherwise had or whether they brought in extra votes that we would have otherwise not had (or more likely some combination of both). Still fun to think about though.

Also people should be saying, the people of Ireland won. Looking through the list of everyone who got elected I can see a high number of very experienced players and some talented up and coming ones aswell.
Disappointing seeing people trying to say we won and such sh*t, get over yourselves and look at it from a national stand point and not looking only what is good for your party.
