My Granny's Shepherd's Pie

My Granny had quite the tasty shepherd's pie, even thinking about it now makes my mouth water. It is one of my fondest memories as a child. However this was no ordinary pie, it was only made on special occasions.

Granny believed that at all times bad things were just around the corner, so whenever there was a big moment in our family, she'd make this pie. She'd say "When this all goes to the shitter, atleast you'll have pie."

She did this when my uncle went off to join the navy, thankfully that worked out well.

She did this for my dad when he started a new job, that worked out well too. But the eternal pessimist that was my granny, bless her soul, still made the pies saying, "If this all goes to the shitter, atleast you'll have pie"

I wish Granny was around today, because I have just submitted (and had to re-submit because of the invasion) my application for congress, if my granny was around I bet she'd bake me the pie, and say "If it all goes to the shitter, atleast you have pie."

Well, this time around, I don't have pie, and hopefully it will not go to the shitter.
