My First Battle Hero Shiny!

Day 1,818, 08:54 Published in USA USA by BritSeelowe

Gentle Readers,

I am thrilled to tell you about receiving my first Battle Hero Recognition. I realize that I must add the word "recognition" because my friends assume a different kind of story if I just say Battle Hero. This is not without foundation as I have been crushing pretty hard on a new congressman who has his own battle hero recognitions.

Several days ago, my friends and I had been gifted with a few days of leave. The war with Indonesia was over, so the nails look great again. Instead of helmets, we had gone shopping and found these adorable little hats that went nicely with our uniforms. Regardless, we were bored! There simply was very little to do! Then a pilot came by and told us about MILITARY TRANSPORTS where we could go somewhere if space allowed. He told us that he was going overseas and would be returning prior to our leave being up. RAPTURE! My congressman was overseas and, though I may not meet him, I could be closer than I was at that moment. Besides, this was something to do. We threw items together and ran for the plane.

The trip across the pond was uneventful. We had time to rest and do out hair and ready ourselves for a wonderful time abroad. Then we were told that the airplane was to be diverted due to a resistance war between eCanada and eIreland, who was allied with eUSA at that moment. Being good eUSA girls, we decided we should help out.

Upon landing, we found weapons and gave them a test run. To be honest, we never thought it would be a huge deal since it was eCANADA for cripe's sake. I mean, who has ever heard the words eCanada or world-power in the same sentence??? (Come to think of it, we don't hear that word associated with eIreland either, but they were allies.)

As we were getting ready to shoot at anyone who showed up, the forces there handed us GAS MASKS! It was then that we realized this resistance was going to seriously cut into our weekend if it did not end sooner than later! We quickly changed our tunes and took inventory.

Now I had been receiving bazooka pieces since I joined eRepublik and never really had used them. Neither had the other girls and happily none of us had left such bounty behind! We unpacked them and quickly took inventory. Never having used bazookas, we also took instruction how to assemble them.

As misfortune would have it, it was very late for eIreland. After helping us assemble bazookas, I think they all went to bed! eCanada was not resting though and threw a lot of firepower at us. How eIreland could sleep with that going on, I cannot explain. It was very clear that the war was strongly in eCanada's favor! We aimed bazookas and fired at anything that moved in our direction from where we were hunkered down!

The resistant eCanadian shooting lasted for just a few moments and then it stopped. Never had we experienced such silence on the battlefield. Come morning, there were no eCanadians, but the eIrish had won. It was a pretty exciting moment. They rewarded us gratefully, which was rather nice.
But then we found we were no longer allied with them the following day.

So that is my non-existent leave story. Oh, I got the Battle Hero Medal, and I am proud of it. That being said, what I had really hoped to get on leave was something different.

Something...well, more of a dream in my head. My shiny is not very romantic, but it is valued. I'm proud of my growth as an EZ Woman! Plus, it leaves me with a mission for the next granted leave!
