I am running for president because I feel Ireland needs a huge push and a very different way of thinking. I have specific idea of what I would want to change. A clear vision of what the country should look like and a plan to take us there.

Before I get into what I want to do, Who am I? Instead of listing the few metals I have got. I will try to state why I have done the things I have done and what I got out of them. About 3 weeks after playing I ran for Party President of the IFP and won. I worked hard during those two months and increased membership and congressional seats substantially. More importantly during this time I got to meet a lot of interesting people while recruiting for the party. The people I have met are the reason I keep playing this game. As Party President, I focused all my energies on the job and spent most of my time talking with the average citizens. After two months of reaching the goals I had set out to accomplish, the challenge wore off and I decided to try something new. I started two businesses and despite some bad weeks have made a good profit overall. I enjoyed this part of the game because there is a lot to the job that is not published in any how to guide. This part of the game probably simulates real life more than the others. I have also run for congress twice and got elected by a good margin. Congress is one aspect of the game I found which did not live up to my expectations. There is not any clear goals to shoot for in the job and most of the power in the game lies in the executive branch.

Why would any one be crazy enough to want to be country president? I do not want this job because I have a big ego or even a desire to serve; the truth is I play this game for personal challenges. I enjoy setting difficult goals and working hard to achieve them. I enjoy setting a vision for a team and working with them to achieve it. If elected for country president I would set ambitious and measurable goals for the government and would be relentless in achieving them. I believe change is need in Ireland to make it more interesting and I am proposing some. If I am going to do a job I am going to do it right and push for improvement.

It is time eIreland got involved in real war. For a long time, Ireland did not have the infrastructure in place to engage in war, or did not have a distinct side to support. We saw neutrality as a “safe” option and as our uniqueness. If elected I would request the Dail to join a large alliance and bring real war to eIreland. I feel war would make the game more interesting and bring the population boost we need. War is good for the economy and more importantly this will make the game fun. Sometimes I read the American articles and forums, they feel they are on the side of good fighting the evils of the world. This is their quest or mission. EIreland needs someone to give the average player a reason to log on every day. The slogan for this game is “your country needs you”. We need to create that feeling in eIreland. Neutrality or independence is boring. Real war would make this game more interesting and stop the drain of people emigrating searching for a challenge. It would come with some risk, but usually all fun and excitement does.

What is eIreland great at? Niall H once wrote an article a couple of months back asking what is eIreland know for in the eWorld? He called for us to specialize in one area and be great in that aspect of the game. I thought about this and would like eIreland to be known as the best writers or journalists in the eWorld. This is an aspect of our culture that we need to share with the world. To achieve this I propose a state funded national newspaper. It would be published weekly by an editor who would compile short articles from several writers on subjects such as world news, travel, interviews with famous players, tips for new players, poetry, politics, and eWorld history. The newspaper would also have links to some of the best articles published around the world the previous week and advertisements. The government would pay the eIrish writers and the editors for there contributions. The government will also pay for the world advertising of the paper. The goal would be for the national newspaper is to be the most scribed in the eWorld and bring the eIrish prospective to the whole world. This is what eIreland should be known for and is what we should strive to achieve. The minister for information will be responsible for achieving this. Staff and writers are necessary to achieve this. There is no doubt that the Irish are great writers. Let‘s let the world know this as well.

If elected most of the ministers in my government would come from parties that supported me. This is not being done to pay people back or insult the people who have worked hard the past couple months, but to create real political opposition in this country again. Competition is a good thing. Also people on the outside questioning the government is a good thing. I would also personally insure that anyone who wants to be a junior minister is given a position in the government. The past ministers have done a good job but I feel that it is time for some new and creative thinking. Most of my ministers will be first time ministers with fresh and exciting ideas. It is time for a new generation to take control.

Capitalism is the embodiment of economic freedom. I feel taxes are at a fair rate currently and should remain this way. I think the minimum wage could be improved slightly to help the wellness of new players and the business that employ them. I also suggest more government funding or grants for young entrepreneurs looking to start a new company. I would support any measures proposed to make our business run at optimal production. Increased population and war would help our counties economy immensely.

A lot of work has gone into new citizens minister the last couple of months . I would put even more focus on this with some new thinking in this area. I would propose the government paying people to be mentors with the pay being performance based. League tables would be published to make a completion between mentors to see who is the best. Would also advertise in warn torn areas on the world to attack refuges to our country. We need to build social networks right from the start to increase our population. I feel more citizens would make this country more interesting.

Another goal would be to make the government more transparent in all areas that don’t affect national security and to bring the game back to the game. I would ask ministers to log onto in game chat room(when it is working) and hold disutions on the issues facing the country regularly and at published times. This would increase consolation with the people and make the government more accountable. This would allow for feedback and discussion with the citizens of eIreland. I would also ask the minister of fiancé to produce regualer budget statement and publish them.

To summarize, I would like to bring the excitement back into the game by getting us involved in some real wars. I would make population growth a top priority and lastly I would strive for eIreland to take its place as world class writers in the eWorld. The one who has not worked in government and the one who wants to bring real change to the status quo. With your vote we can make this game more interesting!
