Greetings citizens of eNetherlands,

Recently one of eNetherlands citizens Aries Prime wrote an article called "Netherlands is Dead". One of the points he made in the article (and also the point that got almost all of the attention in the comment section) is that eNetherlands needs to have a war. There have been more people making comments to have a war and eNetherlands has a (albeit hopefully short) war planned to help our long time ally USA. We Airstrike the Mexican region Baja so eUSA can retake it it when the determination has lowered. Still people complained that this wasn't good enough because we needed a real war not some fake region swap war. Because having some war just for the sake for having a war, a war about nothing is better than helping an ally right?

Although I understand erepublik has become nothing more than a wargame and most of the other modules are basically dead does not mean we should start wars just for the sake of starting wars. Some people (I am not naming names but you know who you are) have just been warmonger lately demanding a real war. The planned Aistrike isn't good enough for some people demanding real war although in my opinion I would rather help an ally country then start a war about nothing. Helping an ally is productive, it helps eNetherlands build and keeping relationship with allies countries which is good for the future of eNetherlands. eUSA has helped us in the past when we were at war with for instance Norway, we were number #1 priority multiple times. I put more value in building relationship with other countries then just having war.

I understand people want to fight for eNetherlands but it makes more sense that eNetherlands helps allies then to start a war, people complain that eNetherlands has no real allies and no countries that give a shit about eNetherlands but on the other side is not willing to do much or to invest in making this happen. People rather fight in Resistance wars we need to lose for True Patriot medal then help an ally. I have stated this before in my campaign article and I will say it again that the military is a strong foreign affairs tools, helping and fighting for our allies that is a good way to build relationships and friendship

In the comment section of Aries Prime article people gave suggestion for countries to attack for instance start a war with Poland, Attack Norway or to Aistrike another country. Other options given in the comment section was to attack one of our neighbours Belgium or the UK. Most of the countries except Norway are allies so or you suggest starting a (real) war with an ally country or you suggest having a training war. If we start a real war we would be back to where we were after Kordak presidency with no allies at all, if we do a training wars with one of those countries we wouldn't have a real war would it be so people would still complain most likely still wanting a real war.

There are also other problems with the list of countries named above Poland is way too strong even against their two clickers we would lose and Poland would need to help and fight for us while they could use their damage elsewhere for their own battles or allies basically draining their damage. Problem with a war with eBelgium is that we don't have border with them seeing ePoland holds Southern Netherlands.

As for a Airstrike, an airstrike would cost us a lot of money, 66,667 currency and 87,250 energy units. For an Aistrike to be successful we would need to win the first battle or the war is closed. There is only a limited number of countries which are significantly weaker than us that we could pull it off for sure but most of them are countries who nobody gives a shit about and not really worth attacking.

Although I do not reject the idea of attacking Norway persé the last time we attacked Norway there was some commotion about attacking a former ally and a country where the Commander of Praetorian Guard NL is a citizen of. This caused a lot of discussion and division in our country. I am not saying this would still be the case but there will still be people who strongly oppose such a move. I know from experience that you can't please everybody so that shouldn't be a deciding factor but it is something to take into account.

Neither I nor Iron and Wine (as somebody suggested in my previous article) are against war but we oppose war just for the sake of having a war. War just for the sake of having a war makes no sense like I tried to explain in my article having a war might be beneficial short term, there might be some more activity going but that is only very short term for the duration of that possible war that people want. Demaning war or saying we shouldn't do a aistrike to help eUS is very shortsighted and only looking at the short term, I try and look at the bigger picture and the longer term and use common sense instead of just yelling "rah rah moar woar" all the time. War should be a tool to achieve something and never be a goal in itself.
